Summer can be busy, but that is the perfect time to ground yourself. ComeUnity Volunteers come when they can and greatly contribute to the garden's success! They get a chance to learn beside seasoned gardeners, make new friends (people, plant, and insect), and contribute to their community!

Gardening with, learning beside, giving back to your community!
The ComeUnity Roots Garden members aspire to play an important role in creating and sustaining a strong community. As a gathering place, the garden fosters connections between its members. As a place of production and learning, the garden helps to sustain us and our natural world through the growing of organic and nutritious foods.
As members, we value collaboration, creativity, curiosity, and diversity. We promote these values through our inclusive membership structure, our programs of education outreach and continual learning, and our efforts to create lasting connections with other organizations within our community.
Community Sustainability: We build community sustainability by sharing knowledge and resources, practicing inclusive decision making, and fostering strong and diverse personal connections.
Environmental Sustainability: We promote environmental stewardship by encouraging a close relationship with nature. Our focus on intensive urban agriculture, organic growing practices, and incorporating native and pollinator species reduces our individual and collective ecological footprints.
Food Security: We believe that everyone should have access to healthy, fresh food. Our commitment to affordable memberships, communal gardening, and naturally-grown local produce promotes making good food available to more people.
Education and Outreach: We are passionate about community gardening, and want to share our experience with others. We empower each other to learn and to share new and valuable skills and to build tangible connections to our city. We create new relationships by inviting community members into our garden to experience our hands-on approach to community building.
