We came to Portugal in 2017 and settled in Curia in 2019. We are pictured here in the local Termas Hotel gardens with Louisa’s mum and dad who had a great holiday with us.

As a family, we're taking an environmentally-aware approach to refreshing and refurbing the Pensao. Wherever possible, we are re-using, recycling and re-purposing furniture and materials found the building. We also think the location is good for developing self-sufficiency and home-growing - many locals are growers, farmers and wine-makers. We have planted a lot of food and have started keeping chickens, and are documenting this way of life on the 'Good Morning Portugal!' project and in the 'Happy Homesteaders facebook group.

Incidentally, we have experience in all aspects of moving to and living in Portugal, including starting a business, banking, housing, health, travel, transport, residency and even having a baby here!
With an impending Brexit, and given that Portugal has managed its response to the Covid19 pandemic so well, there's rightful and renewed interest in moving to this brilliant country.
