"Check on It" is a midtempo R&B and hip hop song,[7] which makes use of a heavy bassline,[16] strings, wind instrument,[17] and frequent "swinging pelvic taunts".[18] According to the sheet music published by Sony/ATV Music Publishing at Musicnotes.com, the song is written in the key of G major and is set in common time at 166 beats per minute. Beyonc's vocal range spans from the low note A3 to the high note B4.[19] According to Bill Lamb of About.com, Beyonc adopts smooth and alluring vocals throughout "Check on It".[7] Lyrically, the song takes place in a dance club, where the female protagonist is letting the male patrons know that they are welcome to come and look at her body when she is dancing.[18] "Check on It" starts with a verse-rap from Slim Thug: "Good girls gotta get down with them gangstas / Go head girl put some back and some neck up on it..."[18] The rapper sounds like a 1975 Mercury Cougar turning over as he growls in his burly purr, as written by Bret McCabe of Baltimore City Paper.[18]

Jaime Gill of Yahoo! Music described "Check on It" as "sinuously brilliant".[21] James Anthony of the British newspaper The Guardian wrote that the song "espouses a blissful disregard for traditional songwriting conventions. No Hova (Jay-Z) this time, but Houston rapper Slim Thug's lazy southern drawl suits the fractionally slower tempo."[22] In the July 2006 issued copy of Spin magazine, Nick Duerden ranked the song at the seventh place on his list of The ten Beyonc tracks you need to download, writing that "Check on It" is Beyonc's sexiest song to date.[23] "Check on It" was nominated in for Best Duet/Collaboration at the 2006 BET Awards,[24] and for the Best Rap/Hip Hop Dance Track at the 2007 22nd Annual International Dance Music Awards in 2007.[25] It also received a Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI) Award for "Award-Winning Song".[26]

The song also topped the US Pop Songs, the US Hot Dance Club Play, the US Rhythmic Top 40, and the Hot 100 Airplay charts. It reached number three on the US Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.[31] According to Mediabase and Nielsen Broadcast Data Systems, "Check on It" passed the 200 million audience impressions mark in on January 31, 2006.[32] Another single of Beyonc, "Irreplaceable" also passed this mark on December 11, 2006.[32] Beyonc thus became the second female singer to achieve this feat in the US after Mariah Carey's two singles "We Belong Together" and "Shake It Off" both passed the same mark within 2005.[32] At the end of 2006, "Check on It" emerged as the tenth best selling,[33] and fourth most played song on radio stations in the US.[34] It was certified double platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for sales and streams of over 2,000,000 units.[35] As of October 2012, it has sold 1,438,000 paid digital downloads in the US.[36]

We're called Proud Boys because I went to one of my kids' music recitals and some ponce got up there and while everyone's playing the piano and the violin and doing stuff they tried, he gets up and he goes, "Proud of your boy, I'll make you proud of your boy." It's some song from "Aladdin." And I was looking around for the dad because I thought there's no way this dad is proud of his boy, and of course, he was the child of a single mom...duh! His mother told him, yes sing a song, that's a talent, and there was no dad to say no you're not, play the piano for christ's sakes.

"So excited to hear your voice again Jimin. Can't wait! You both gonna sound amazing together," said another fan. "Two big members of two popular groups coming together like let's make this successful," wrote a Twitter user. "Am I the only one that can't stop tearing up from excitement??" tweeted a fan. "Excited to start the new year with a song from Jimin. Also congrats to Taeyang for his new release after years," read a comment. "His (Jimin's) dream comes true," said another person.

MT: Lots of players use Just Dance to work out, but up until now, they could not track the length of their sessions, number of songs, and calories burned. Furthermore, it is a feature that existed in another form from the past that players asked to come back. Now we believe it is much easier to set yourself objectives and daily dance fitness routines.

When our old age pension check comes to our door,

We won't have to dread the poor house anymore.

Though we're old and thin and gray,

Good times will be back to stay,

The song that made everyone fall in love with Outkast was a deceptively deep party jam, with Big Boi and Andre 3000 showing off flows as smooth as Georgia molasses. Rosa Parks brought a lawsuit for misappropriating her name, but by then this hit had brought Southern tang to the rap charts.

In the Public Domain Music section, you can find all the music tracks under this denomination. If you have doubts about whether the song you want to use belongs to the public domain, this website offers you several ways to clear your doubts.

1. First I would open note pad or something similar to copy and paste content into in case something gets closed. To get the track URI information you are wanting to find the Genre information about the song for. Right mouse click on the song to highlight the song, and select from the right click menu options, Copy Spotify URI link which will look something like this:

Note that not all songs have a genre assigned to them...try using Spotify's new Line-In feature to check the song's genre, or submit an edit (although I've never seen any movement on the edits I've made, it's work a shot IMHO).

I see this was originally posted a few years back. But I have used Spotify everyday for several years now. It has always frustrated me that the genre or atleast generic genre of each song isn't displayed within Spotify. I have checked out Organize Your Music which is the best I can find. However, under Track List under any given genre, its limited. It reads, "Showing the first 400 matching tracks." Is there a way to view the rest of the songs for that genre?

"I've recently hopped on the Soundstripe train. All the sound effects and the music from this video comes from their amazing library ? - For those who are interested in avoiding copyright strikes, you guys should check them out!"

I cannot figure out how to check and uncheck songs in new iTunes. Now no checks appear near songs, and I have more songs in my iTunes library than space in my iPod so I need to uncheck. I just imported several CDs and now new iTunes doesn't have a box to check or uncheck next to songs.

Thanks, but actually I figured out better solution. The problem was that no checks were even showing, and clicking on the songs, as you and others suggested is cumbersome. I wanted all checks/unchecks visible. I went into preferences and checked "checklists." Problem resolved! But only w/in song view, not in albums.

This was a deal breaker for me and I have remained on iTunes 10. Can anyone using the just released iTunes 11.0.2 (or earlier) for Windows tell me if this functionality has been reinstated? Specifically looking for the ability to view/modify check marks in album view.
