Welcome to DocNest - PDF & File Reader (the "App"). Your privacy and trust are our top priorities. This document combines our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service to explain how the App operates and the terms that apply to your use of it.
By downloading or using the App, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to this document. If you do not agree, please do not use the App and uninstall it.
PART 1: PRIVACY POLICY
1. The "Local-First" & Security Principle
DocNest is designed as a secure, local utility tool.
- No Cloud Storage: We do not provide cloud storage. Documents you import, images or Word files you convert to PDF, and digital signatures are processed and stored strictly on your local device.
- Local Security: The Lock & Unlock PDF features function entirely offline; your passwords and encrypted files never leave your device.
- No Content Access: Vo Thanh cannot see, read, or share the content of your documents or your personal annotations.
2. Permissions & Why We Need Them
To function as a professional document management and security tool, the App may request the following permissions:
- All Files Access (MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE): Necessary to scan your storage to find and import files, perform Lock/Unlock operations, and manage (rename/move) PDF and Office files.
- Camera: Used strictly when you use the "Scan to PDF" feature.
- Foreground Service: Ensures that critical tasks like file conversion, PDF encryption, or signing are not killed by the operating system when the App is in the background.
3. Information Collected by Third-Party Services
We use AdMob, Mintegral, AppLovin, and Firebase to support the App. These services may collect device identifiers (including GAID), IP addresses, and basic usage statistics. This data is used for personalized advertising and app performance optimization. Each service processes information under its own privacy policy and terms.
4. Children and Minimum Age
The App is intended for users who are at least 12 years old. If you are under 12, you may not use the App. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 12, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
5. Data Retention, Security, and Your Choices
Because documents and related content are stored locally, you control their retention and deletion through your device and the App. You are responsible for maintaining backups of important documents and passwords. Third-party service data is retained and managed according to the applicable provider's policies. You may limit or reset advertising identifiers through your device settings and may disable permissions, although doing so may affect App functionality.
PART 2: TERMS OF SERVICE (USER AGREEMENT)
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading or using DocNest, you agree to these Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy above. If you do not agree, please uninstall the App immediately.
2. License & Usage
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal or professional document editing, conversion, management, and signing, subject to these terms.
- Prohibited Acts: You may not attempt to decompile, reverse engineer, modify, redistribute, or bypass the security features of the App, except to the extent expressly permitted by applicable law.
3. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability
- "As-Is" Basis: The App is provided without warranties of any kind. While we strive for stability, we are not liable for data loss caused by device failure, operating-system issues, or forgotten passwords for locked files.
- Document Security: Since data is stored locally, you are responsible for backing up your important documents and passwords.
4. Subscription & Billing (If Applicable)
If we offer premium features through in-app purchases, billing is handled directly by the Google Play Store or the applicable platform store. Subscriptions can be managed in your store account settings. We do not receive or store your complete payment card details.
5. Compliance with Regional Laws
- US Users: This agreement is governed by applicable laws of the United States, subject to any mandatory consumer protections in your state.
- Japan Users: We comply with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information (APPI).
- Taiwan Users: We respect the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA).
Where local law grants you additional rights, those rights remain unaffected by this document.
6. Changes to This Document
We may update this Privacy Policy and Terms of Service from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice within the App or through the distribution platform. Your continued use of the App after an update means you accept the revised document.
