ComCal FAQ
ComCal FAQ
-General Questions-
Q: What is ComCal Commission Calculator?
A: ComCal is an all-in-one real estate commission and mortgage calculator designed for real estate agents. It helps you calculate commissions, estimate mortgages, track transactions, set goals, and view analytics — all privately on your device.
Q: Who is this app for?
A: The app is built primarily for real estate agents, brokers, and professionals who want to track their commissions, goals, and performance trends securely and efficiently.
Q: Do I need an internet connection to use ComCal?
A: No. ComCal works completely offline. All your data is stored locally on your device — no servers, no internet, no data tracking.
-Data & Privacy-
Q: Where is my data stored?
A: All data — including your calculations, goals, transaction history, and preferences — is stored locally on your device using secure local storage. Your information never leaves your device.
Q: Does ComCal share my information or use cloud storage?
A: No. ComCal does not connect to any servers or cloud services. Your information stays private and offline at all times.
Q: What happens if I delete the app or lose my device?
A: Since ComCal stores data only on your device, uninstalling the app or losing your device will erase all saved information. However, you can prevent data loss by using the Export Data feature to create a backup file.
-Import & Export-
Q: How does the import/export feature work?
A: You can export all your user data, account information, and preferences as a backup file to your device’s storage. If data is lost or the app is reinstalled, you can import that file to instantly restore all your information.
Q: How often should I back up my data?
A: It’s recommended to export your data at least once a month or before deleting or updating the app. Since there’s no cloud sync or server storage, this is your best safeguard against accidental data loss.
Q: Can I export data from multiple accounts?
A: Yes. ComCal supports multiple local accounts on the same device, and you can export all data from every account in one file.
-Subscription & Access-
Q: How much does ComCal cost?
A: ComCal offers a single, straightforward subscription plan — $2.99 per month.
Q: Are there different tiers or premium levels?
A: No. It’s all or nothing — one plan gives you access to every feature. There are no tiers, hidden costs, or in-app purchases.
Q: What features are included with the subscription?
A: Your subscription unlocks everything: commission and mortgage calculators, transaction history, goals tracking, analytics and trends, import/export options, and full offline functionality.
-Features & Functionality-
Q: Can I customize my commission calculations?
A: Yes. You can adjust broker splits, agent splits, and tax rates to match your real-world commission structure.
Q: Does the mortgage calculator support different loan types and terms?
A: Absolutely. You can set the home price, down payment, loan type, term length, interest rate, and extra costs — and export the results as a detailed PDF breakdown.
Q: What kind of reports can I export?
A: You can export commission breakdowns, mortgage summaries, analytics reports, and trends in professional PDF format for sharing or record keeping.
Q: Can I edit past transactions?
A: Yes. You can modify or correct any past entries in your transaction history. You can also search and filter by date, property, or commission amount.
Q: What does the Analytics & Trends section show?
A: It displays graphs, tables, and performance metrics that visualize your earnings, goal progress, and sales trends over time.
-Accuracy & Legal-
Q: Are the calculations in ComCal official or certified?
A: No. All calculations are based on user inputs and are for informational and visual purposes only. Results may vary depending on the accuracy of your entries.
Q: Is ComCal affiliated with the Texas Real Estate Commission (TREC) or any other agency?
A: No. ComCal is not affiliated with or endorsed by TREC or any government or regulatory agency.
Q: Can I rely on ComCal for official real estate transactions?
A: No. ComCal is intended as a personal productivity and estimation tool. It should not be used as an official resource for contracts, sales, or purchases.
Q: Is the app audited or verified for accuracy?
A: No. There is no audit system or verification process in place for data or results. All outcomes depend on your entries, and user error can cause inaccuracies.
Q: Is the developer liable for errors or data loss?
A: No. Because all data is stored locally and entered manually by the user, the developer cannot be held responsible for data accuracy, user input errors, or loss of information due to unexported data.
-Support-
Q: How can I get help if I have a question?
A: Since ComCal operates fully offline, there’s no in-app support system. However, you can refer to this FAQ or the app’s documentation for guidance.
Q: Can the developer recover my lost data?
A: Unfortunately, no. Because your data is never sent to a server, we have no way to access, recover, or restore it. Always use the Export Data feature regularly as your personal backup.
