ThermoWeather (the “app”, “we”) shows weather forecasts and helps measure temperature in several ways. The app is designed to collect as little as possible, and to keep the most sensitive data on your device entirely.
Microphone recordings. The acoustic thermometer plays a short chirp and records its reflection. The recording is analysed on-device and discarded immediately; it is never uploaded or shared. The microphone is used only when you explicitly start a measurement.
Health data (HealthKit). With your explicit permission the app reads and writes body temperature records in Apple Health. This data is processed on-device only, is never sent to our servers or third parties, and is never used for advertising, as required by Apple’s rules.
Bluetooth sensor readings and the measurement log are stored locally. We operate no user data servers and cannot see your measurements.
Location. With your permission, coordinates (coarsened to forecast-level precision) are sent to WeatherAPI.com to fetch your local forecast. We keep no movement history. You may pick a city manually instead, in which case no location access is needed.
Weather requests go to WeatherAPI.com, OpenWeatherMap (map tiles) and RainViewer (rain radar) and contain the forecast point coordinates and technical request parameters.
Product analytics: Google Firebase Analytics, aggregated usage and crash statistics; no measurements, coordinates or health data are included. Subscription analytics: Adapty processes App Store purchase events (transaction ID, subscription status); payment details are handled solely by Apple. Advertising: the free tier shows Google AdMob ads. Users in the EEA/UK/Switzerland see a consent form (Google UMP) before any ads; declining personalisation keeps ads non-personalised. On iOS, access to the advertising identifier (IDFA) is requested via the App Tracking Transparency dialog; declining affects nothing but ad personalisation. The Plus subscription removes ads entirely.
Contract performance for core features (Art. 6(1)(b)); legitimate interest for crash/usage statistics (Art. 6(1)(f)); consent for personalised advertising and tracking (Art. 6(1)(a)), withdrawable at any time.
Re-open the ad consent form: app Settings → “Privacy settings” (shown where GDPR applies). IDFA: iOS Settings → Privacy → Tracking. Location, microphone, Bluetooth and Health permissions can be revoked in iOS Settings at any time. Local data is removed by deleting the app. For GDPR requests (access, erasure, objection) email tgstartup@icloud.com; we respond within 30 days.
The app is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Material changes update the date above and, where appropriate, are announced in the app.
