Join the re-photography postcard challenge!
Help celebrate Colorado’s 150th birthday by exploring our past and present!
Students are invited to match historic photos from around the county by taking their own “now” photos. Submit your photos to create a community gallery showing how the region has changed over time. Students who were 4th and 5th graders in the 2025-2026 school year are eligible to win. Participation is free and voluntary!

Explore: Browse the historic photos on this site.
Find the Location: Use the clues to figure out where each photo was taken.
Take Your Photo: Visit the location and take a NOW photo.
Submit: Upload your photo using the form.
💡 You can complete just one or try to match them all for a region. Students who submit 12 or more photos for a region will be eligible to win the challenge.

The uploaded photo is your own
You agree that your photo may be shared in the final project gallery and community materials
Only first names and last initials will be collected. No personal information will be shared publicly.

Final gallery published in September
One student who completes the challenge will be selected to receive a printed photo book of their work and a chance to be featured in the Durango Herald.
