TESTIMONIALS FROM YTT GRADUATES:

J.P. 5.18.18

I always wanted to teach yoga. I became very passionate about yoga and how it helped it emotionally, mentally, and physically. I wanted to share that too with everyone else because it really changed my life...to a better one. It improved my life. This is why I decided to take part in the Summer Teacher Training Program at Collegeville Yoga Bar.

I learned a lot about meditation and mindfulness through the program. There’s more to it than the poses. I had been doing yoga for before.

Stefania was very kind. She gave us a lot of time to get to know the materials. What I like about her is that she is very patient. I have ADHD and doing yoga helps. Just learning from someone who has experience teaching others with similarities was awesome. It was intensive, so there were a lot of things we needed to cover in a shorter time period, but Stefania made it very easy to understand.

How do I apply what I learned? The most important idea I took away from this training was to “be kind to ourselves.” I apply that to my students because we are our worst critics. Being a yoga teacher made me realize we have to be kind to ourselves so we can be kind to other people. It was very hard for me to do at first. Now, it’s what I try to teach. This also goes with poses--there’s no judgment! You’ll get there!

If I could describe the program using three words, I would say it is fun, informative, and rewarding. I felt that I learned so much because I was given so much information with the perfect amount of time because it was intensive over summer. I recommend taking this summer program!

At Collegeville Yoga Bar, I was already taking classes and I felt really comfortable there. It’s a very welcoming environment. Because of this warm and inviting space, I wanted to learn how to become a yoga instructor.

Stefania really prepares you well to teach a class. She explains everything thoroughly. You even see her own individual style come out which enhances the training. I came out of the training with a good understanding of yoga ethics, which is extremely important when you’re teaching a class. The program also teaches you about the anatomy and importance of breath during yoga practice. I learned how to conduct myself in a group setting, as well as how to be comfortable teaching a class!

How would I describe the CYB Yoga Teacher Training Program? Enjoyable...informative...life changing. I would tell anyone interested in the program to go for it! It’s totally worth it!”

The CYB teacher training program has been extremely rewarding. It has greatly deepened my knowledge of yoga and provided the tools for success as a yoga teacher. Taught by Stefania and Beverly, these two teachers have two personalities that complement one another, providing the perfect balance of structure and creativity. The program effectively teaches the layers of each posture and the specific language. Built into the program are required yoga classes and a home practice is strongly encouraged. This and other information (such as pranayama and Ayurveda) that is taught throughout the program is extremely valuable because it all ultimately allows one to teach more effectively.

Both Stefania and Beverly openly shared their own personal experiences to best prepare us for the yoga teaching world. I am incredibly grateful for everything this program has taught me!

"Collegeville Yoga Bar is located 75 miles from where I live, but it has been so worth it for me to travel the distance to participate in the YTT here. While I know other yoga teachers who have participated in programs that were rich in the volume of content instruction, many of these other programs did not give them an opportunity to teach until they graduated from the program. I have appreciated the opportunity that this program has afforded me to learn in a hands-on way.

The 'teaching' part is not something that comes at the end of the YTT, but we've been trying out our skills and developing our voices as yoga teachers from the first week of the program. As we have progressed through the program, we've built in a sequential way on our knowledge and practical skills. I have no doubt that I will be adequately prepared to teach yoga upon completion of this program, having competency in Asana (yoga postures), anatomy, breathwork, the yogic philosophy, and the business aspects of teaching yoga.

Stefania's expertise in teaching is apparent in the way that she guides us in learning the postures and how to communicate instructions to students. Her attention to detail makes every component of this program worthwhile. She designs materials and explains content to us in a way that is clear and that is thorough. The combined experience of Stefania and Beverly makes available to future yoga teachers a wealth of knowledge, and they share this knowledge with us. The blend of their individual styles leads to a full and holistic understanding of all that is involved in the teaching of yoga and encourages us to explore how we can bring our unique spirits to each class that we teach.

My participation in this program has deepened my own yoga practice, has led me to think in new ways about my practice on and off the mat, and has inspired and excited me about sharing my love of yoga with others."
