PSAT

PSAT is in October - In-Person Sophomores and Juniors should plan and prepare to take the PSAT, virtual students must have completed the form in Google Class by 9/4 to participate!

AP Testing

Student have been contacted about registering and paying for AP exams. The deadline for registration and payment is 11/11/2020.

Military Meetings

JHS works with recruiters for each branch of the US Military. If you would like to learn more about a specific or multiple military branches and potentially meet with a recruiter, please fill out the form below and Ms. Watson will reach out to you. https://forms.gle/8o6SGbFAByRK6ZoeA

ASVAB

A career assessment for future civilian and military occupations, the ASVAB is a great opportunity for juniors to strengthen their testing skills and career awareness. Scores are released to students only! It is the student's responsibility to contact a recruiter if they wish to share results. Fall ASVAB testing is November 17, 2020 free of charge! Sign up with Ms. Watson!

FAFSA

Seniors can begin their FAFSA on October 1st. If you apply after March 1st, you miss out on possible aid from the State of Texas but do still apply. You will have until June 30th to complete it.

Virtual College Fairs

NACAC (National Association for College Admission Counseling) has put together a list of Colleges that will showcase themselves to students virtually on 4 different dates: Sept. 13th, Oct. 12th, Oct. 18th, & Nov. 8th. About Ms. Watson

Ms. Watson is starting her 5th year in Jarrell, 1st at JHS as the College and Career Coordinator. She is a graduate of the University of North Texas, with a Master's degree in Special Education as well as a Master's in School Counseling from Lamar University. Her prior experience at both the secondary and elementary levels has directly served future planning with students. Boston born, Ms. Watson spends vacations in Massachusetts with her family, most recently celebrating her engagement.

She is so excited to see new and familiar faces at JHS and all that this year has in store! She hopes to keep an open line of communication and resources, to which you may access throughout the site.
