1980 Olympics

• To punish the Soviets, Carter boycotted the 1980 Olypics. It only hurt the athletes.

• When Reagan became president, actual CIA support for the anti-Communist "freedom fighters" was implemented.

• This resulted in arming the people who would very soon commit terrorist attacks on the United States.
