CoinScope: AI Identifier
Privacy Policy
Effective Date: October 19, 2026
CoinScope: AI Identifier ("we," "our," or "the app") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use CoinScope.
1. Information We Handle
CoinScope does not require you to create an account or provide personal information to use the app.
Depending on the features you use, the app may store the following information locally on your device:
- Coin images you voluntarily capture or select for identification
- Coin identification results and coin details you choose to save
- Collection entries, notes, coin details, and auction links you voluntarily add
- Scan history, achievements, titles, and app preferences
- Alarm settings you choose to create
This information is used to provide and maintain the features of the app.
CoinScope is designed to process only the coin image you actively provide for identification. We do not read, scan, upload, or collect your contacts, SMS, call logs, precise location, microphone data, other app data, or device files. We do not scan your photo library; only the image you actively select is processed.
2. Local Storage
Certain information described above may be stored locally on your device.
CoinScope does not require a cloud account to store your app data.
Except for the processing required to provide AI coin identification, we do not upload your collection, scan history, achievements, alarm settings, or other personal app activity to our servers.
If you uninstall the app, locally stored app data may be removed by the Android operating system.
3. AI Coin Identification
CoinScope provides AI-powered coin identification. When you use this feature, the coin image you voluntarily capture or select may be transmitted to our AI service provider solely to generate identification results for your request.
Depending on the identification method, the image may be processed on your device or sent to our AI service provider. When sent to our provider, the image is used only to return the requested identification result. We do not retain the original image on our side after the result is returned, unless you choose to save it to your collection on your device. We do not use your images or identification data to train, develop, or improve AI models.
Our AI service provider is OpenAI, L.L.C. ("OpenAI"). When you use AI coin identification, the coin image you voluntarily submit may be transmitted to OpenAI solely to generate the requested identification result. OpenAI does not use data sent to its API to train or improve its models by default, unless the API customer explicitly opts in. Under its standard API terms, OpenAI may retain abuse-monitoring logs for up to 30 days, unless a zero-retention arrangement applies. We require our AI service provider not to use your coin images to train, develop, or improve its AI models.
AI identification is used only for coin identification. It is not used for facial recognition, identity verification, emotion recognition, advertising profiling, or credit assessment.
Identification results may be affected by image quality, lighting, wear, or other factors. Results are for general reference only and do not constitute a professional appraisal, valuation, authentication, or investment advice.
Please avoid submitting images that contain people, documents, or sensitive personal information that you do not wish to be processed by an AI service.
4. Camera, Photos, Notifications, and Alarms
CoinScope may request camera or photo selection access only when you choose to capture or select a coin image for identification. We do not access your photo library beyond the image you actively select.
CoinScope may use Android notification and alarm-related features for alarms you choose to set. Alarms are optional and can be set independently. You do not need to create an alarm to use identification, catalog, collection, scan history, or achievement features.
If you enable an alarm, Android may display a full-screen alarm interface to help ensure that the alarm you scheduled is shown at the time you set. These features are used only for alarms and notifications you choose to enable. We do not use full-screen alarm interfaces for advertising or marketing.
You can control or disable notifications and alarms through the app and your Android device settings.
5. Coin Catalog and Content
The app may provide a coin catalog with images, years, coin types, denominations, and other reference content.
Using this content does not require you to provide personal information to us.
6. Auction Links and Third-Party Sites
You may voluntarily add coin details and auction links to your entries. These details are stored locally on your device unless otherwise described in this policy.
If you open an auction link, you may be directed to a third-party website or service. We do not control those third-party sites, and their own privacy policies and terms apply.
7. We Do Not Sell Your Personal Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.
We do not use your coin images, collection activity, scan history, achievement activity, alarm settings, or other personal app activity for advertising purposes.
8. Third-Party Services
CoinScope may use third-party services that support app operation, distribution, analytics, crash reporting, AI functionality, or other technical functions.
When you use AI coin identification, the image you voluntarily submit may be transmitted to OpenAI solely for the purpose of generating the requested identification result. We do not retain the original image on our side after the result is returned, and we do not use it to train, develop, or improve AI models. OpenAI does not use data sent to its API to train or improve its models by default, unless the API customer explicitly opts in. Under its standard API terms, OpenAI may retain abuse-monitoring logs for up to 30 days, unless a zero-retention arrangement applies.
Third-party services may process limited technical information, such as device information, app version, diagnostic information, or crash information, in accordance with their respective privacy policies and terms of service.
We do not provide your collection records, scan history, alarm settings, or personal app activity to third parties for their own advertising or marketing purposes.
9. Children's Privacy
CoinScope is not specifically directed toward children under the age of 13.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are under 13, please do not use the app.
If you believe that a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us so that we can take appropriate action.
10. Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect information handled by the app.
Certain app information may be stored locally on your device, and the security of that information also depends on the security settings and protections of your device.
When you use AI coin identification, the image you voluntarily submit may be transmitted over the internet to OpenAI to generate the requested result. The original image is not retained on our side after the result is returned and is not used to train, develop, or improve AI models. OpenAI's handling of data is subject to its own policies and terms, including its default practice of not using API data to train or improve its models unless the API customer explicitly opts in, and its abuse-monitoring log retention of up to 30 days unless a zero-retention arrangement applies.
No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect information using reasonable safeguards.
11. Your Choices
You can control or disable notifications and alarms through the app and your Android device settings.
You can remove locally stored app data by clearing the app's data or uninstalling the app.
You can choose whether to use AI coin identification. Not using AI identification does not affect your ability to use other main features of the app, such as the coin catalog, collection tracking, scan history, achievements, or alarms.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to the app or applicable legal requirements.
When we make changes, we will update the Effective Date shown at the top of this Privacy Policy.
