Thank you for volunteering your time to coach this year - without you, there would not be a team, club or association.
As a coach you will have the unique opportunity to join a team of coaches in Central Otago and be involved in this great game. Coaching is about sharing your knowledge and experience while continuing your learning to make hockey fun and enjoyable for all participants. It is about teaching discipline, fair play and skills that can be used in all aspects of life.
This site is designed to get you started on your amazing journey. It provides tips on the role of a coach, Skill development, basic drills, communication and planning. By working collectively together as a coaching team we can all open up the lines of communication and share ideas for the benefit of our players and association as a whole.

The best prepared coach is a great coach.
Don't confuse players with lots of information or a practice that jumps from skill to skill or focus to focus.
Have a look at your notes from the last game and pick an area to focus your practice around. Use 3 drills which process on from each other to achieve your focus.
