A member of the General Assembly may request an advisory opinion regarding the requesting member's conduct from both the General Assembly Board of Ethics and the IEC. While only a member of the General Assembly may submit a written request for an advisory opinion from the General Assembly Board of Ethics, a member of the General Assembly may also submit a written request for an advisory opinion from the IEC. Any public officer, member of the General Assembly, local governmental official, or government employee may request an advisory opinion from the IEC pursuant to section 5 (5) of Amendment 41 and section 24-18.5-101 (4)(b)(II), C.R.S.
