The Adventurer's Guild
“Ad Astra Abyssosque.” To the Stars and the Abyss.
This large organisation hails from Snezhnaya and has spread all throughout Teyvat. To the point that each nation houses its own branch of the Guild. The Adventurer’s Guild deals with one thing in particular: adventuring. Those looking for a reason to explore the vast land of Teyvat may find their home here. You will frequently find yourself tasked with commissions, tasks and activities handed out to you by Katheryne, the eerily robotic receptionist who seems to be in every region you come across. Such tasks may range from playing with children, to clearing out a camp of Hilichurls. Adventurer’s are a rather nifty way of securing volunteer work..
For the more dangerous missions, Katheryne is responsible for providing intel gathered by other adventurers to relay to you. And along your way, you will encounter many unique and enigmatic adventurer’s. These individuals include the likes of the investigator known as Fischl and her faithful companion Oz, or the terribly unlucky Bennett and his non-existent adventure team, to even Reckless (and careless) Pallad and the boisterous Cyrus.
With a long history that spans more than a thousand years, the Knights of Favonius are Mondstadt’s go-to defenders. They are the force that handles the city’s affairs and the enforcers of its belief in the ideal of freedom. The Knights were founded by the legendary hero Vennessa who had help from Barbatos, after overthrowing the Aristocracy in Mondstadt, Vennessa set out to create an order of Knights that would heed to Mondstadt’s call for help at any time.
Currently, The actual Grand Master, Varka, has set out on expedition with many of the Knights. In his place is Acting Grand Master Jean Grunhildr, who manages the understaffed Knights with all her might. As to be expected of an order of knights, the Knights of Favonius have quite a number of divisions in its ranks, led by a Captain in charge of said division. These Captains include people such as Kaeya Alberich, who is the Cavalry Captain, and Eula Lawrence as the Captain of Reconnaissance Company, meanwhile Amber is the only Outrider currently present in the Knights.
Known as “The Seven Stars of Liyue”, The Liyue Qixing is composed of seven business leaders that act as the harbour’s government. Together, they control the Eight Trades of Liyue, though each of them specialise in a certain type of trade. Their responsibilities, as set down by Rex Lapis, are to uphold the laws of Liyue Harbour and to attend to its day-to-day affairs. Before Rex Lapis retired from his role of Geo Archon, every year, a member of the Qixing would be tasked with performing the Rite of Descension to welcome Rex Lapis.
Thanks to the efforts of the Qixing, Liyue has become the most prosperous city in all of Teyvat, a bustling hub that houses all kinds of trade and business opportunities. The Tianquan of the Qixing, Ningguang, is the richest lady in all of Teyvat. So far, three members of the Qixing have made themselves known to you: the Yuheng Keqing, the Tianshu Uncle Tian, and as mentioned before, The Tianquan Ningguang.
Mythical beings that live separate from society, the Adepti are beings bound to protect Liyue by contract with the Prime of The Adepti, Morax. They helped Morax establish Liyue Harbour in its early days, and have been faithful to Morax since the times of the Archon War. For centuries they have defended Liyue, and will continue to do so to uphold their contract with Morax. It is unknown what the origins of the Adepti are like, or how they came to be, but almost all Adepti take on a beast-like or humanoid form based on their preference.
In current day Liyue, the Adepti’s strength and knowledge, which are far beyond what humans may ever achieve, are not as necessary as they once were. Indeed, Liyue Harbour has entered an age where they are losing the need to rely on the Adepti as they once did, but nonetheless, the Adepti still keep watch over the harbour.
Nowadays, most Adepti spend their time in their own domains, most of which are situated in Jeuyun Karst. An area of Liyue that is detached from human civilization. Such Adepti like Moon Carver, Mountain Shaper, and Cloud Retainer dwell here. Half-human and half-adepti beings like Ganyu and Yanfei can be seen around the harbour, though. But one particular subgroup of the Adepti are the Yakshas, who came to be known as the “Guardian Adepti”. Of this group, Xiao is the only known member still alive.
The Resistance was a force created to fight back against the Vision Hunt Decree, founded in Watatsumi Island. Their leader, Sangonomiya Kokomi, is the Divine Priestess of Watatsumi Island.
In the context of the story, the Resistance are locked in civil war with the Tenryou Commission, who are Inazuma’s military. Neither side willing to give up, the Resistance pushes onwards despite its limited resources and manpower. Watatsumi Island itself already has a long history with the people of Narukami, the main people of Inazuma. This hostile attitude was developed when Orobashi, the serpent deity of Watatsumi Island, invaded Yashiori Island and was slain by the Raiden Shogun.
The Shogunate, also known as the Inazuma Bakufu, is the ruling figure of Inazuma the leader of the Tri-Commissions. The Shogun is the Electro Archon herself, who is more commonly referred to as the Raiden Shogun. Her main residence is in Tenshukaku, the largest building in Inazuma City. For governmental affairs, the Tri-Commission gather at Tenshukaku to discuss such matters.
The Tri-Commissions are the force that oversees every matter in Inazuma. As the name implies, three factions exist that make up the whole of the Tri-Commission: the Yashiro Commission, the Tenryou Commission, and the Kanjou Commission. Each commission has a governing figure to act as that commission’s leader. Kamisato Ayato acts as the leader to the Yashiro Commission, Kujoy Takayuki is the leader of the Tenryou Commission (formerly), and Hiiragi Shunsuke is the leader of the Kanjou Commission (formerly).
It is implied that corruption runs rampant throughout the Kanjou and Tenryou Commissions, as there are numerous times where you will find yourself having to deal with them as they engage in rather shady behaviour. Kamisato Ayaka mentions that whenever the proposal to repeal the Vision Hunt Decree was made by the Yashiro Commission, it was promptly shut down and vetoed by the other two commissions.
The “diplomats” of Snezhnaya, the Fatui are the military and diplomatic group that have found their way into every nation in Teyvat. Its leading group, the Harbingers, are on the hunt for the Gnoses as per orders by the Tsaritsa. Whether as a diplomat or as an enemy on the battlefield, you will encounter this enigmatic group on your travels.
Surprisingly, The Fatui are in possession of very advanced technology by Teyvat’s standards. Their various advancements include members being able to wield advanced weaponry such as guns, weapons powered by technology and not just the elements, and
even the ability to disassemble complicated machinery such as Ruin Guards and the like.
Despite their poor attempts to disguise themselves as a diplomatic force, the Fatui are feared far and wide, and their members are not against the usage of force to get what they want. It is worth noting that most of the Fatui, mainly the lower ranking members, do not know the Tsartisa’s true goals, that being her rebellion against the divine.
Standard enemy mobs that can be found almost anywhere in Teyvat. Hilichurls are recorded by humans to have existed for over a thousand years, as they seem to only be capable of living in the present, they have no history recorded and no formal civilization. In the present time, many Hilichurls are controlled by Abyss Order mages.
Dangerous entities that lurk across the surface of Teyvat who appear as non-human monsters, the Abyss Order hail from the dark underworld known as the Abyss and are the enemies of humanity. They wish to overturn the rule of the gods, and to bring their worshippers, humanity, down along with them.
The sibling you do not choose at the beginning of the game goes on to become this group's Prince/Princess. The Abyss Order are composed of the cursed people of Khaenri’ah, spurned on by the Abyss, they seek to have their plans come to fruition at any cost. Through and through, they are an enemy to be wary of.
Founded by an individual known as “Reed Miller '', Treasure Hoarders are petty criminals who scour for treasure almost anywhere in Teyvat. They are not above using cheap tactics to gain an upper hand, and most are only in it to make a quick buck off of any treasure they may find.
Your run-of-the-mill standard enemy found all throughout the game. They are made up of condensed elemental energy and are naturally immune to their respective elements. Though they do look rather cute, don’t they?
Most commonly found near ruins, Ruin Guards and other machinations in similar style to it are powerful war machines manufactured by Khaenri’ah. Their original names were “Field Tillers'', as revealed by Dainsleif. Other versions of Ruin Guards include Ruin Hunters and Ruin Graders, which are just as, if not more powerful than the standard Ruin Guard. Their name stems from the fact that they are almost always found near ruins, and they fight viciously when provoked, earning their present day moniker.
