Privacy Policy for CocoIncubatorLab
Last updated: 2026
This app is Coco Incubator Lab, an incubation management simulation with a candling
bench attached to it. The bench is the one part that reaches outside your phone, so it is
described first rather than buried at the bottom.
1. The candling bench and the processor behind it
When you send a frame from the candling bench, that photograph is transmitted to
OpenAI, L.L.C., which runs the model (gpt-4o-mini) that produces the read and returns it
to your device. If you write a note above the photo, that note travels with it. If you ask
a follow-up question about a read you have already filed, your question and the text of
that read are sent the same way.
Nothing else is attached to those requests. No operator name, no incubators, batches,
orders, shipments, reports or analytics, no identifiers, no device fingerprint and no
location. OpenAI handles the request as a service provider for this app; how they treat
it is set out in their own policy, published at
https://openai.com/policies/privacy-policy and openable from inside the app.
2. The bench is optional, and reversible
The bench does not run until you have read and accepted the notice in front of it.
Decline, and no network connection is ever opened. Accept and change your mind later:
the app's settings screen carries a switch that withdraws that consent, after which the
bench asks again before any further frame is sent. Everything else in the app - the
simulation, the day cycle, the laboratory, the order book, the analytics - works with the
network switched off entirely.
3. What stays on the device
Your incubation bays, egg batches, chick inventory, orders, shipments, laboratory
reports, day-by-day analytics history, operator profile and preferences are written to
this app's private storage container. Candling reads and the photo frames stored beside
them are kept in the same private container. We operate no server, run no account system,
and hold no copy of any of it.
4. No account, no advertising, no tracking
There is no sign-up and no login. We never ask for an email address, contacts or
location. The app carries no advertising, no behavioural tracking, and no third-party
analytics or crash-reporting library of any kind. The optional operator name you may type
is stored on the device to label the interface, and travels nowhere.
5. Removing what you have made
Deleting a candling read removes both the read and its stored frame immediately.
Resetting progress in settings erases the laboratory, the entire candling journal and
every stored frame in one action. Deleting the app removes all of it. Because we hold no
copy, there is nothing for us to export, correct or erase on your behalf.
6. Children
Coco Incubator Lab is a management simulation with a photography-based husbandry
tool. It is intended for a general audience, is not directed at children under 13, and no
personal information is knowingly collected from any user.
7. A note on what a read is worth
Candling output describes what one photograph appears to show. It is husbandry guidance
for incubation decisions, not a veterinary diagnosis, and it should never be the sole
reason a viable egg is discarded.
8. Changes to this policy
If what the app does with data changes, this document and the policy screen inside the
app are updated together and the date at the top moves. Continuing to use the app after a
change means the current version applies.
