COCD Ease is designed specifically for OCD patients with Cleaning Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder. It integrates with AR ERP scenes, hope it can help you!
Augmented reality (AR) is a cutting-edge technology, in which virtual objects are merged into a 3D real physical view in real time. Contamination-based obsessive compulsive disorder (COCD), in other words, cleaning obsessive compulsive disorder, as one of the most common types of OCD, which is experienced by 46% of all the OCD patients. COCD is characterized by compulsive cleaning, which is driven by fears of being contaminated by potential threats including touching things with germs, dirt, and anything gives rise to feelings of uncleanness and disgust.
Exposure and response prevention (ERP), one of the forms of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), is considered to be the primary non-clinical psychotherapy for COCD patients. ERP makes an individual exposed to a stimuli that evokes anxiety by facing an object which is the trigger of the contamination fear.
To help COCD patients dealing with contamination fears, this app provides with AR ERP sessions, where users could confront their contamination fears with AR technology.
There are three main pages: "AR Exposure", "Charts", and "Statistics".
From "AR Exposure", users could select one of four pre-defined AR sessions to have an immersive journey facing their contanimation fears, during which certain 3D virtual objects would be placed in the real world view that is captured by iPhone's camera in real time.
Another main function is data viewing, since ERP encourages COCD patients to take a prolonged treatment. Thus, data review helps users understanding their performance of ERP treatment over a period of time. There are two forms of data review: review by categories and review by date. As is shown in screenshots above.
