Coast Miwok Land Acknowledgement Project

Recognizing the First Peoples of Marin County

Our Mission:

The Coast Miwok Land Acknowledgement Project is seeking to bring awareness of, education about, and engagement with the Coast Miwok people to the Marin County public. We hope to achieve this through the integration of land acknowledgements as a first step in celebrating the past, present and emerging Indigenous history of Marin County.

Our Goal:

To integrate land acknowledgements and therefore acknowledgement of, and engagement with the Coast Miwok people of California into the public education system, local governance boards, business storefronts, and daily practices in Marin County.
