The Plan: Make white paint out of egg shells
step 1 collect expensive egg shells
gave them a quick boil to clean
then set them out to dry
I start with 100g, that sounds like a nice round number
ready for the mortar and pestle
Ended up with 94 grams of powder...not too bad!!!
At this point I could tell something wasn't quite right. The entire process was gross and grainy...and didn't feel right. I ended up with oil paint...but I wouldn't use it for anything paint related. It was too grainy rough. Back to the videos to see where we might have gone wrong......
all dry
ready to add some oil...this batch feels much finer!!!
so we try again
add oil
mull and mull and mull
and mull and mull and mull
and mull and mull and mull
that looks pretty close to paint!!!!! woot woot
making a bigger batch
looks pretty good
gonna see how long it will last in this jar
