Coach H's Physical Education & Health

About Me

Hello Parents & Students,

My name is Devinn Heuermann a.k.a. Coach H. First, I would like to express my excitement to have you be a part of my classroom. This year is going to be a little different than most, but we will work through it together.

A little about me, I am happily married to my wife, Rachael. We have the most incredible little doggo, Jayde, and newest puppy Branson. I spend most of my free time either with Rachael, Jayde & Branson; family & friends; or coaching and exercising. Outside of school, I coach football and wrestling. Additionally, I am an avid weight lifter and amateur bodybuilder. Physical fitness and being healthy are vital aspects of my life.

My background consists of degrees from Westminster College and Lindenwood University, working with Department of Youth Services, being a member of the U.S. Air Force Reserves, and coaching both football and wrestling.

From my students I will expect their best efforts at all times. Some days will be tougher than others. All I can ask is that you give your best effort at any given time. I am here to teach; you are here to learn. I will do my job, you will do yours, and together we will make this a year that optimizes your learning experience.

Let's find the silver lining, hidden in 2020-21!!!!

My Philosophy

I believe that every child has the potential to bring something meaningful into this world. It is my duty as a teacher to provide a safe learning environment where students can grow emotionally, physically, intellectually, and socially.

My focus as a teacher exemplifies two principles: ensuring my students develop to their fullest potential, and to create positive connections that students can rely on. I aim to emphasize the strengths of each student, because every student has something to offer. It is my responsibility to provide a safe and positive environment, to develop knowledge, and overall ability with physical activity and health.

“Get up and get moving,” is the first step to success. To follow, incorporating 21st Century skills such as critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, communication, flexibility, leadership, initiative, productivity, and social skills add value to the Physical Education & Health program. It is my goal to instill the idea that Physical Education & Health are not only a concept confined to the 8-hour school day. I intend to educate students for life, not just for today.
