Humanities with Ms. B and Mrs. Brown-Brooks

Welcome to Humanities👋🏾

Welcome to Humanities! Ms. Belser and Ms. Brown will co-teach Humanities. Humanities is a combination of Language Arts and Social Studies. You all will have double fun in this interdisciplinary class!!! The first part of the trimester will center on learning how to be in school again and assessment to see student's strengths and areas of improvement. We will then enter into the 1619 project.

Trimester 1 - Living and Leaving Legacy

Our first project surrounds the impact of slavery in the United States and the Globe. We will consider questions like:

  • How do the impacts of slavery impact us today?

  • What is the 1619 project?

  • How do we learn from history?

  • What legacy will you leave?

Below are some possible texts we will explore.
