A conference on geometric structures on manifolds in honor of Ser Peow Tan's 60th birthday.
Character varieties of a discrete group, in particular, the fundamental group of a surface lies at the intersection of many different areas of mathematics including algebraic geometry, Teichmueller theory, Kleinian groups, hyperbolic geometry, three-dimensional topology, dynamical systems, and number theory. Their study reveals many deep and rich connections between these fields. The program will bring together some of the leading experts from these fields.
