If you want stronger noise control, longer stated playtime, and a useful short-charge boost for children, choose CMF BY NOTHING Buds; if you need translation features and a choice of ear tips, choose ScyKei Earbuds. For a child’s everyday listening, I lean toward CMF’s more fully described noise-control and battery features, while ScyKei makes the more distinctive case for language learning and travel.
• CMF BY NOTHING Buds: Their stated strengths are 42 dB active noise cancellation, transparency mode, and up to 35.5 hours of playtime with the case; the trade-off is a rounded-tip in-ear fit rather than an ear-clip design.
• ScyKei Earbuds: Their standout feature is app-based translation across more than 165 languages, alongside three ear-tip options; the trade-off is a shorter stated total playtime of up to 32 hours and a less detailed description of noise control.
• Choose CMF if you want a more clearly specified mix of noise modes, battery features, and app controls.
• Choose ScyKei if translation, its included ear-tip choices, or its newer stated Bluetooth version matters more to your routine.
CMF Buds are conventional in-ear earbuds with rounded tips, active noise cancellation, and a transparency mode. The stated cancellation figure is 42 dB, with a bandwidth up to 2900 Hz. That gives a shopper a more concrete description of their noise-control feature than ScyKei provides. Transparency mode is also worth considering for children: it offers an alternative to blocking outside sound when being more aware of the surroundings matters. Neither feature, by itself, determines what volume or listening habits are appropriate for a child.
For daily use, the battery details are a practical draw. CMF states up to eight hours on a single charge and up to 35.5 hours with the charging case. A 10-minute fast charge is stated to provide 6.5 hours of playtime. Those numbers make the short-charge claim especially notable for a child who might forget to charge earbuds before a trip or a school-day commute. They are product specifications, not a guarantee of the same runtime in every use pattern.
The 12.4 mm dynamic drivers, Ultra Bass 2.0, and five EQ settings tuned with Dirac suggest a listening profile with extra attention to bass and some flexibility for different music. CMF also lists dual-device connection, Bluetooth 5.3, touch controls, low-latency and game modes, and customization through the Nothing X app. Skip CMF if you specifically want translation features or an ear-clip design: neither is listed for these rounded-tip in-ear buds.

ScyKei’s clearest point of difference is its companion-app translation feature. The product description says it supports real-time translation across more than 165 languages and can generate transcripts through the app. That could be relevant for a family using earbuds alongside language learning, travel, or conversations across languages. The listing does not explain enough about the app workflow to assume the translation feature works independently of a connected device or app, so shoppers should treat it as an app-based capability rather than a standalone translator.
The fit details may matter when shopping for children. ScyKei describes an ergonomic in-ear shape, soft silicone tips, and three different ear-tip options, with each earbud listed at 3.8 g. More tip choices can give a buyer options when trying to find a comfortable seal, but they do not guarantee a fit for every child. These are still in-ear earbuds; the data does not describe them as clip-on or on-ear headphones.
ScyKei states up to 32 hours of total playtime with the case, wireless charging, and a 10-minute charge for two hours of use. Other listed features include Bluetooth 6.0, five EQ presets, touch controls, dual ENC microphones, and IPX4 protection against sweat, rain, and splashes. Skip ScyKei if your main priority is the longer stated case-inclusive runtime or a clearly quantified active-noise-cancellation figure: its listed battery total is lower than CMF’s, and its noise-reduction description focuses on calls rather than specifying a comparable cancellation level.
• Best for the longer stated total playtime → CMF BY NOTHING Buds. CMF lists up to 35.5 hours with the case, compared with ScyKei’s up to 32 hours.
• Best for a quick charge before heading out → CMF BY NOTHING Buds. Its 10-minute charge is stated to provide 6.5 hours; ScyKei lists two hours from the same charging period.
• Best for a listed real-time translation feature → ScyKei Earbuds. Its companion-app description covers more than 165 languages and transcription.
• Best for a clearly stated active-noise-cancellation level → CMF BY NOTHING Buds. CMF lists 42 dB ANC and transparency mode; ScyKei’s sheet does not give an equivalent ANC figure.
• Best for choosing among included ear tips → ScyKei Earbuds. The product description specifies three tip options, which may help when looking for a more suitable in-ear seal.
• Best for dual-device connection → CMF BY NOTHING Buds. CMF explicitly lists support for connecting to two devices.
• Best for a stated newer Bluetooth version → ScyKei Earbuds. ScyKei lists Bluetooth 6.0, while CMF lists Bluetooth 5.3.
• Best on-ear headphones for children → Neither, based on the supplied designs. Both are described as in-ear earbuds, not on-ear headphones. The same distinction matters if you are searching for the best clip-on earbuds for children: neither product is described as clipping to the ear.
Buying Considerations
Noise control is another difference to weigh carefully. CMF lists active noise cancellation and transparency mode, with a 42 dB figure. ScyKei’s sheet mentions active noise cancellation in the product information, but its feature description emphasizes reducing background noise on calls with dual ENC microphones. Call-microphone noise reduction and listening noise cancellation are not interchangeable claims, so I would not treat the ScyKei call figure as a direct comparison with CMF’s ANC specification.
Battery figures are also stated in different ways. CMF gives a single-charge estimate as well as a case-inclusive total, while ScyKei highlights its case-inclusive total and quick-charge time. The practical distinction is clear from the stated numbers, but actual use can vary with settings and listening habits. If your priority is a feature that goes beyond listening, ScyKei’s app-based translation may be more relevant than the battery gap. If the child mainly needs music, calls, or gaming features, CMF’s transparency mode, dual-device connection, low-latency mode, and Nothing X app controls make a broader set of listed functions to consider.
In my opinion, I would choose CMF BY NOTHING Buds for a child’s everyday listening because their longer stated case-inclusive playtime, stronger short-charge claim, and specified transparency mode make a more practical all-around combination. That is my pick for a child who wants standard in-ear earbuds, not a claim that they are the best fit for every child. ScyKei is the more compelling choice when translation or three ear-tip options are the deciding factors.
Both are described as in-ear earbuds, so neither is an on-ear or clip-on option. CMF lists a longer total playtime and transparency mode; ScyKei lists three ear-tip options. The more suitable pick depends on fit and which features matter to the family.
CMF specifies 42 dB active noise cancellation and a transparency mode. ScyKei’s description discusses ENC microphones for reducing background noise during calls, but it does not provide an equivalent listening ANC figure. Those are different claims, so they should not be compared as if they measure the same thing.
The product information describes translation and transcription through a companion app. It lists support for more than 165 languages, but the supplied details do not establish that translation works without the app or a connected device.
CMF lists up to 35.5 hours with the case and says a 10-minute charge provides 6.5 hours of playtime. ScyKei lists up to 32 hours with the case and two hours from a 10-minute charge. These are stated figures, and actual results may vary with use.
