Bobby was a very nice man and would help wherever needed in the Chapter. He would have chapter parties and meetings at his house and make everyone feel at home. When his wife died we all attended her funeral in support of Bobby. We were all very sad when he was killed coming home from a Rally. The Chapter designed and ordered a patch in Bobby's honor and sold them to the members and friends. We gave Bobby's shirt and patch to his son. He is also missed from our Chapter and life.
I met Bobby only two times. He always had a smile and was one of the most generous people I have ever met. Bobby hosted Vicki and I overnight during a stay in Hobbs and treated us like royalty. Bobby was retired from the oilfield but was asked several times to come out of retirement to help with situations they were unable to solve without him. obviously, he was a valuable person in the business.
Bobby was riding his trike back from the national CMA rally in Moses Lake, Washington; lost control in the mountains south of Ouray, Colorado and went off the side of the road into a canyon area. I spoke to someone that was there at the time of the rescue, and they told me that he was talking Jesus with them as they were transporting him to the hospital. Bobby died soon after.
He is missed but not forgotten and is among the saints in God's Kingdom.
