CSAI State & Regional Chapters Guidelines
1. Introduction
The State and Regional Chapters of the Cyber Security Association of India (CSAI) are established to strengthen Cybersecurity awareness, collaboration, and capacity-building at the grassroots level across India. These Chapters operate in alignment with CSAI’s National vision and mission.
2. Tenure & Membership
All nominations to State/Regional Chapters are honorary and valid for a period of one (1) year, extendable upon approval.
Members are expected to actively contribute to Chapter initiatives and uphold CSAI’s values.
3. Chapter Meetings
Chapters must convene meeting at least once every two (2) months, either virtually or physically.
Meetings should review past activities and plan upcoming initiatives.
4. Core Responsibilities of Chapters
Each chapter is expected to:
Organize at least one self-sustaining event annually within their State/Region.
Attempt to conduct monthly cyber awareness programs (online or offline).
Engage with State Universities and academic institutions for cyber skilling initiatives.
Promote startups and SMEs through relevant programs and collaborations.
Strengthen local participation and encourage professionals to join CSAI initiatives.
Promote membership of CSAI and also promote encouragement to enrol in various cyber directories of CSAI
5. Community Engagement & Outreach
Members may recommend individuals for inclusion in CSAI communication platforms (e.g., WhatsApp groups, LinkedIn page, Membership) as also for directories of CSAI.
Chapters should actively promote CSAI’s presence on professional platforms like LinkedIn.
Members should represent themselves appropriately as Chapter Members or Heads, and avoid using any other designations.
Members may post cyber technical and awareness matters in CSAI What’s app Group/ LinkedIn page. Members would be part of CSAI Main what’s app groups.
The separate what’s app group would be created by HO for each Chapter. These can be used to promote regional/state activities. The postings done in main CSAI what’s app need not be repeated in Chapter groups, unless they relate to the concerned Chapter.
6. Coordination with CSAI Headquarters
All major events, initiatives, and programs require prior approval from CSAI Headquarters.
External communications (emails or official letters) must be routed through the Head Office, with regional members kept in the loop.
Chapters must align all activities with CSAI’s National policies and objectives.
7. Objectives of Regional Chapters
Regional Chapters will:
Promote cybersecurity awareness, education, and best practices at the local level.
Facilitate collaboration among industry, government, academia, law enforcement, and professionals.
Organize events, workshops, webinars, and training programs.
Support CSAI’s mission of building a cyber-resilient India.
Provide regional insights and feedback to the Head Office.
Expand membership and strengthen local engagement.
8. Financial Guidelines
Chapters may generate revenue through event fees and sponsorships under HO guidance for State/Centre level events.
A portion of membership fees may be shared as per HO decisions.
Chapters cannot incur liabilities or take loans in CSAI’s name without prior written approval.
9. Activities & Branding
All communications and materials must carry the official CSAI branding with chapter identification (e.g., “CSAI – Delhi Chapter”).
The initiatives such as MoUs, policy discussions, or National-level events require prior approval.
Suggested activities include:
Monthly webinars and knowledge sessions
Cyber awareness programs for students and SMEs
Workshops and CERT-In aligned training
Collaboration with state governments and universities
10. Reporting & Compliance
Make half yearly reports covering activities, membership growth, and financial summaries.
Maintain proper records of meetings and share minutes with HQ.
11. Code of Conduct
All members and office bearers must:
Uphold the highest standards of integrity and professionalism
Avoid conflicts of interest
Not use CSAI branding for personal or commercial gains
Promote collaboration and inclusivity
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive discussions
Authorisation to use CSAI logo for any events/programs with prior approval of HO
12. Disciplinary Actions
Any member found violating guidelines or acting against CSAI’s interests will be subjected to removal or such other action as may be deemed fit.
The President, CSAI, reserves the right to terminate or curtail the nomination period.
13. Dissolution of Chapter
The CSAI Executive Committee may suspend or dissolve a chapter in cases of:
Serious violation of guidelines
Financial irregularities
Inactivity exceeding six (6) months
Actions detrimental to CSAI’s interests
14. Support from Headquarters
CSAI HO provides:
Official branding materials and templates
Access to expert speakers and resources
Guidance on event planning and sponsorship
Promotion via CSAI website and social media
Training and capacity-building for Chapter leaders
15. Guidelines for Office Bearers
General Responsibilities
Act as ambassadors of CSAI and uphold its mission and values
Work collaboratively to achieve Chapter goals
Ensure alignment with HO and National policies
Leadership Conduct
Demonstrate ethical leadership and professionalism
Encourage participation from all stakeholders
Maintain transparency in operations and decision-making
