Cloud Resident Privacy Policy

Cloud Resident is a browser extension that spoofs timezone, locale, geolocation and the Accept-Language header on your device. It does not create accounts and does not operate a backend of its own.

Data stored on your device

Settings (enabled state, locale, timezone, coordinates, language header, WebRTC toggle, last detected IP summary) are saved with chrome.storage.local on your computer. This data is not uploaded to us.

Permissions

debugger — used only to call Chrome DevTools Protocol emulation APIs (Emulation.setTimezoneOverride, Emulation.setLocaleOverride, Emulation.setGeolocationOverride, Network.setUserAgentOverride). It is not used to read, record, or transmit page contents.

declarativeNetRequest — sets the Accept-Language request header.

scripting / host access — applies WebRTC blocking on http(s) pages you visit when that option is enabled.

privacy — sets WebRTC IP handling policy when you enable leak blocking.

webNavigation — attaches emulation before a page’s scripts run.

storage — saves your preferences locally.

Third-party services

If you click “Detect exit IP”, the extension fetches public IP geolocation APIs (such as ipwho.is, ip.sb, ipleak.net, ipapi.co, ipinfo.io, ifconfig.co, ip-api.com) from your browser. Those providers receive your current public IP address, which is required to look up region data. This happens only when you click the button.

What we do not do

No analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.

No sale of personal information.

No collection of browsing history.
