A year ago we launched WARP for Desktop to give anyone a fast, private on-ramp to the Internet. For our business customers, IT and security administrators can also use that same agent and enroll the devices in their organization into Cloudflare for Teams. Once enrolled, their team members have an accelerated on-ramp to the Internet where Cloudflare can also provide comprehensive security filtering from network firewall functions all the way to remote browser isolation.

Two of the most important factors in our zero trust agent are reliability across platforms and reliability of the connection. If you have ever shipped software at this scale, you'll know that maintaining a client across all major operating systems is a daunting (and error-prone) task.

To avoid platform pitfalls, we wrote the core of the agent in Rust, which allows for 95% of the code to be shared across all devices. Internally we refer to this common code as the shared daemon (or service, for Windows folks). A common, Rust-based implementation allows our engineers to spend less time duplicating code across multiple platforms while ensuring most quality improvements hit everyone at the same time.

When our agent was first introduced, the focus was on encrypting all device traffic to the Cloudflare network and allowing an admin to build HTTP and DNS policies around that traffic. We also know that customers are on a journey to migrate to a Zero Trust model. Sometimes that transformation needs to happen one step at a time.

Teams can connect users, devices, and entire networks to Cloudflare One through several flexible on-ramps. Those on-ramps include traditional connectivity options like GRE or IPsec tunnels, our Cloudflare Tunnel technology, and our Cloudflare One device agent.

Next, the Cloudflare agent running on the device needs to be able to reach that certificate to validate that it is connected to a network you manage. We recommend running a simple HTTP server inside your network which the device can reach to validate the certificate.

Each time the device agent detects a network change event from the operating systems (ex. waking up the device, changing Wi-Fi networks, etc.) the agent will also attempt to reach that endpoint inside your network to prove that it is operating within a network you manage.

Managed network detection and settings profiles are both new and available for you to use today. While settings profiles will work with any modern version of the agent from this last year, network detection requires at least version 2022.12.

For resetting the cursor, you would indeed have to remove the integration from the policy and re-add it again from Kibana to that host, or re-enroll the agent, or login to the machine itself and remove the cursor file from the state folder using by agent (and restart the agent running).

The cursor is not stored on ES, so it wouldn't be possible to just do it with an API call, but you do have a few different options here.

When you got the issue with 168 hours, is that based on the agent not running for some time, and then being restarted? Once the initial_interval has been used with the first API call, it will indeed use the cursor date always, so for example if the device has been down for a few days, and it hits the limitations of the Cloudflare API, then you would unfortunately see this issue.

Am I in the proper place if I edit the (path to my agent)/run/default/filebeat(blahblah..)/registry/filebeat/(myfile).json, find the most recent cursor for the failed collection, and edit the last_execution_datetime to a more recent time, then restart my agent / host?

I had been running the client for over a month without a user agent string so I wonder if a Patreon + CloudFlare setting changed recently or if I just got lucky and hit some kind of threshold recently.

ZNTA has been properly configured on both firewalls (Office and Cloud) and can properly route our test wep apps on our network using Agentless policy. All CNAMES are configured properly, etc. These sites are also available in the resource portal on both gateways. This also works for connecting to the FW admin webpage over ZTNA. When I try to change this to agent based, this no longer works. When digging in the network threat logs, the support agent found a 525 ssl error with the ZTNA agent logs which is quite strange. This is also valid for both gateways when trying to make an RDP connection over ZTNA. I've made sure the same wildcard cert and key has been uploaded to each gateway several times, and i've uploaded this cert to cloudflare as good measure. We've also tried with the changing the A dns record from proxy to dns only with no luck for RDP. Also reinstalling the ZTNA agent has not helped either. So right now im at a loss. It appears the issue is with SSL, but there are no troubleshooting tools available to verify if the cert on the gateway is in use or not.

Also I done this exact same setup, WITHOUT cloudflare on my home setup running an XG 115 with no issues running on v19. Both RPD and agentless web apps and godaddy dns works without any issues using the same ssl wildcard cert provider. Any input is greatly appreciated.

I can verify that DNS only was selected, but still no joy. The CNAME resources worked regardless if proxy was on or not. from wireshark readings, I've noticed that RDP is not receivng replies going over the ztna adapter. which means the traffic isnt even making it to the firewall. RDP does work locally to rule out the local firewall theory. It's most likely due to the ssl error that keeps appearing in the network threat logs for agent based traffic.

In order to do this you need to login into your cloudflare account, select the site for which you are using Optimole and then go to Firewall > Firewall Rules and click on Create a Firewall rule as in the picture below. 


This is a reproducible issue, I get it myself with Qutebrowser and Windows. It seems that it is also unrelated to adblocking, because it persisted even when I disabled built-in adblock in Qutebrowser. So the true problem is likely Cloudflare not recognizing Qutebrowser as a browser. There is reportedly a workaround to change a user agent for Gitlab.

Yeah, the issue seems to be qutebrowser, as it is happening on more sites, i am aware of this workaround as i am interacting in the issue but as per one of my comments, this solution doesnt seem to apply with more config, or setting the user agent only on giltab ( -1219364408).

I've been having an issue for a while now where the cloudflare challenges that ask you to click the check mark to "verify your connection is secure" would just endlessly ask me to click the button and never continue. Sometimes it would say to unblock access to challenges.cloudflare.com.

After some testing with a local web server and disabling the extensions one-by-one, the problem one is the user-agent spoofer. It appears that even after specifically enabling it to run (and it does show in the toolbar) in incognito windows it actually just doesn't run at all. The HTTP user agent is the original when making requests.

The only extensions I have installed are ublock origin, umatrix, dark reader, and User-agent switcher. I have enabled all of these to run in incognito and the cloudflare challenges still work with each of them operating just as in the non-incognito window.

Yes, I am using that user-agent switcher extension. I did test it in a private window, and my actual user-agent string was used. Not the one that the extension was supposed to supply despite the extension being active and saying it was using my chosen spoofed agent.

But I think the problem is the user agent extension was unable to spoof all the ways a site can identify the box. So I guess cloudflare is more advanced at fingerprinting than that extension is at spoofing. Again, there is already a published review on the extension confirming someone else having the same issue as me.

Fingerprint Cloudflare Proxy Integration is responsible for proxying identification and agent-download requests between your website and Fingerprint through Cloudflare. Your website does not strictly need to be behind Cloudflare to use this proxy integration, although that is optimal for ease of setup and maximum accuracy benefits.

Cloudflare worker code is 100% open-source and available on GitHub. Once the Fingerprint JS agent is configured on your site correctly, the worker is responsible for delivering the latest fingerprinting client-side logic as well as proxying identification requests and responses between your site and Fingerprint's APIs.

When you provide the integration wizard with the information above, we will create a Cloudflare Worker in your Cloudflare account. Cloudflare Worker will be named fingerprint-pro-cloudflare-worker-your-website-com, you will be able to see it in Cloudflare Workers Dashboard once it is deployed.

Cloudflare WAF (Web Application Firewall) helps in protecting applications and APIs from various cybersecurity threats. Traceable provides an integration with Cloudflare's WAF to block IP addresses and threat actors. As part of the integration, Traceable identifies the IP address that have violated some rule, for example, a rate-limiting rule. These IP addresses are communicated to Cloudflare WAF. Once the IP addresses are sent to Cloudflare, you can individually view and edit them in Cloudflare. Before you proceed with Cloudflare integration, make sure that Traceable Platform agent is installed and configured in your environment. Platform agent is required for instrumentation purpose and not necessarily for WAF integration.
