The Research Project - ClimLabels:

Currently Sustainable Finance primarily emphasizes economic activities already classified as "green". Thereby, companies undergoing a transformation are neglected, resulting in an investment gap regarding companies in transition. While existing research has analyzed investment behavior concerning already green technologies, the financing of transformation technologies still needs to be explored. ClimLabels aims to help filling this gap.

Core topics that ClimLabels is focusing on include:

• Which indicators can reliably signal that greenhouse gas emissions will be reduced in the future?

• How do transition labels influence retail investors' investment decisions and the advice bank advisors give?

• Which criteria should be included in the design of a good transformation label?

Together with the expertise of four different institutions, ClimLabels aims to tackle these crucial questions.
