One of the most economically impactful aspects of climate change is infrastructure damage. Many climate-related disasters damage & destroy roadways, bridges, buildings, water, sewer & power infrastructure, and engineered coastal areas. Recovering from & repairing these damages takes time and can be enormously expensive! The more frequently these impacts happen (increasingly due to climate change), the more disruptive they are to people's lives and the more costly they are to communities, taxpayers, governments, and private businesses.
More Powerful Storms cause more severe damage!
Although often associated with less-populated landscapes, wildfires can tear through suburban and populated rural areas, destroying anything in their path.
Flooding damages homes & buildings, roadways & other transportation infrastructure, and can overwhelm sewage treatment plants & other industrial sites, not only causing damage, but also pollution!
Sea Level Rise mostly impacts coastal areas along the ocean, but these impacts are being seen up the Hudson River Estuary as it is an "arm of the sea" that also experiences the effects of the rising Atlantic Ocean.
Now that you know a bit more about this climate change-related problem....
