CLICKPATH DEMO RECORDER PRIVACY POLICY
Effective date: September 21, 2026
ClickPath Demo Recorder is a local-first Chrome extension for recording, editing, and exporting browser workflows as interactive demonstrations, PDF guides, and narrated videos.
INFORMATION HANDLED BY CLICKPATH
When a user explicitly starts a recording, ClickPath may locally process and store:
• Screenshots of the visible area of the active webpage
• The page URL, website origin, and page title
• Selected clicks, click locations, and the dimensions of highlighted controls
• Limited text used to describe a selected control, such as its label, title, placeholder, or visible text
• Instructions, labels, simulated typing, narration scripts, and other content added by the user
• Voice recordings that the user intentionally records through the extension
• Imported media and editable project information
• Extension preferences and export settings
ClickPath does not intentionally collect passwords, payment-card details, medical information, authentication credentials, or other sensitive information. Because ClickPath captures the visible webpage, users should review their recordings and use the included redaction tools before sharing an export.
HOW INFORMATION IS USED
This information is used only to provide ClickPath’s recording, editing, redaction, narration, project-management, and export features.
LOCAL STORAGE
ClickPath stores recordings, screenshots, narration, editable projects, and preferences locally within the user’s Chrome profile. ClickPath does not upload this information to developer-operated servers.
Information remains stored locally until the user deletes the applicable recording or project, clears the extension’s stored data, or uninstalls the extension.
DATA SHARING AND TRANSFERS
ClickPath does not sell user data.
ClickPath does not transfer recorded browsing data, screenshots, narration, projects, or usage analytics to the developer or to third parties.
Users may intentionally export and share files created with ClickPath. Any sharing performed after an export is controlled by the user.
ClickPath may provide buttons that open third-party websites, such as optional text-to-speech services. Opening one of these websites does not automatically transmit a ClickPath project, script, recording, or screenshot to that service. Any information a user chooses to provide directly to a third-party website is governed by that website’s privacy policy.
PERMISSIONS
ClickPath uses the following Chrome permissions:
• activeTab to access and capture the active tab after the user starts recording
• scripting to run the packaged recording script in the selected tab
• storage and unlimitedStorage to retain editable projects and media locally
• downloads to save exports and project backups requested by the user
SECURITY
ClickPath limits access to the active tab selected by the user and does not request permanent access to every website. Extension pages execute only code included in the installed ClickPath package.
LIMITED USE
ClickPath’s use of information received from Chrome APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Information is used only to provide or improve ClickPath’s user-facing recording, editing, and export functionality.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
This Privacy Policy may be updated if ClickPath’s functionality or data practices change. The effective date at the top of this policy will be updated when revisions are published.
