Purpose
Click Counter counts trusted user clicks on websites and shows local, aggregated statistics. Its features include click totals for today, the last seven days and all time, top domains, and average clicks per minute for the current tab.
Data processed
The extension stores the calendar date, the normalized main domain of a website where a click is counted, and aggregate click totals. For the current-tab rate calculation, it temporarily stores a browser tab identifier, the main domain, the session start time, and the number of clicks in that session.
A full URL may be used briefly in memory only to derive the main domain. Click Counter does not store full URLs, page titles, page content, clicked elements, cursor coordinates, form data, typed text, personal messages, account identifiers, or payment details.
Storage and retention
Aggregated statistics and user settings are stored locally in chrome.storage.local. Current-tab session data is stored temporarily in chrome.storage.session and is removed when the tab is closed or the browser session ends. Users can delete all statistics at any time from the extension settings. Uninstalling the extension also removes its local storage.
Permissions
The storage permission is used only for local settings and statistics. Access to HTTP and HTTPS websites is required so the extension can receive trusted click events and derive the main domain. The extension does not inspect page content or form fields and does not use remotely hosted code.
Sharing and sale
Click Counter has no developer server, account system, analytics, or advertising. It does not transmit, sell, or share user data with the developer or third parties and does not use data for credit, lending, or unrelated purposes.
Optional donations
The settings page contains optional links to DonationAlerts and public cryptocurrency payment details. These are shown only for voluntary donations. Opening a payment service requires an explicit user action and is governed by that service’s own privacy policy. Click Counter does not embed payment forms and does not receive the donor’s name, card details, payment amount, or transaction result.
User choices
Users can pause counting, exclude individual domains, disable the toolbar badge, and erase all locally stored statistics from the settings page.
Policy updates
If a future version introduces a feature that sends or synchronizes data, it will not be enabled automatically. The policy will be updated before release and users will be informed before any such feature is enabled.
