Although I haven't traveled outside the country more than once, many people long to do so and experience it, and for good reason.
The stressful feeling of packing your bags the night before a trip is one that, strangely, you’ll never get tired of. You know that in the end, you’ll be at your destination and not worried about the things that stress you out, at least for a little while. It doesn’t even have to be outside of the country. You could hop on a train to New York or take a road trip to North Carolina, and it could be just as exciting.
Having a change of scenery can refresh your mind and soul. Even If you remain in your country, the culture can change across different places. For example, you could visit the Waffle House in Atlanta, which you’d never see in Philly.
Also, traveling can be a form of escape from your lived reality. By being in a completely new place that you have never been before, you can learn many new things and see the ways that other people live. For example, in Baltimore, there are scooters everywhere, scattered along the sidewalks for people to hop on and ride away. Or in Guatemala, the women wear a certain traditional dress just to walk around the city casually.
Although traveling is a well-sought-after thing, many people don’t get to see the joys of it because of their financial situation. But if you get your money up, traveling to a new place can open you up to new world views. You can see different terrains and the colors of places you visit, you can smell and taste the foods of a completely different culture, and feel what it’s like to be in a completely different part of the world, even if it's just for a little while.
