ABOUT THE ARTIST

Clevon has always had a passion for music. He started writing poetry from a tender age as a way of expressing himself to his loved interest and family. His writings took a turn as he grew closer to his Lord and savior, writing about the great works he has done for him.

The genre he tends to gravitate to is reggae because he grew up in a community in which reggae was used to express how they felt, watching guys freestyle on the streets and chanting from their hearts and mind. Reggae music gives a nice feel and he believes it suits his voice. He’s also a lover of slow melodies, it helps him express the deep parts of himself and it brings out an emotional side.

He recently wrote a song entitled “Diamonds and pearls”. He does not need diamonds and pearls all he needs is Jesus, he does not need the riches of this world.

BACKGROUND

Clevon Smith hails from Trinidad and Tobago. Born and raised in the hills of Simeon Road, Petit Valley, he grew up in church at Jesus is the Answer (JITA) and was baptized at age 14.

Growing up in the ghetto ,God has been a comfort and protection and has placed people around him that helped guide and encourage him to stay focus on achieving his goals in life.

His involvement in the school and church choirs played an instrumental role in his musical career taking flight. His real-life experiences and encounters with God are the inspiration behind his music.
