Privacy Policy for Clear Signal: Practice Hearing God’s Voice
Last updated: May 12, 2026
Information We Collect
Clear Signal does not require you to create an account or sign in. Most of what you do in the app stays on your device.
When you use the app, the following information is stored locally on your device (and is removed when you delete the app):
• Your first name (entered during onboarding, editable in Settings)
• Your selected “loudest voices” preferences (such as Flesh, Accuser, Pride, Fear)
• Onboarding state and progress
• Streak count and last reveal date
• Card sequence and daily completion data
• Lesson progress
The following information is stored on our servers (Supabase) and tied to an anonymous user ID assigned to your device on first launch. No name, email, or login is attached to this ID:
• Practice card answers (which option you selected and whether it was correct)
• Journal entries (situation, the four voices, scripture, self-test responses, notes, and titles), auto-saved as you complete each step
• Testimony submissions, only if you choose to submit one through Settings → “Share Your Testimony.” This may include your name, age range, a one-sentence summary, your full story, your recording-comfort choice, your email, and any other contact information you provide (such as a phone number or Instagram handle).
When you use the in-app “Suggest a Feature,” “Contact,” or testimony-by-email options, the app opens your own email client with a pre-filled message. The app itself does not collect or transmit that message — it is sent through your email provider directly to us.
Clear Signal does not collect:
• Location data
• Contacts, photos, or microphone access
• Device identifiers like IDFA or IDFV
• Crash reports or analytics events
• Advertising data
• Any data through third-party trackers or SDKs
How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
• Run the app’s features (showing the right next card, saving your progress, displaying your streak)
• Save and display your journal entries
• Personalize practice content based on the voices you selected
• Review testimony submissions and, with your permission, potentially share your story
• Respond to feedback, feature suggestions, and support emails you send us
We do not sell your information. We do not use your information for advertising. We do not share it with third parties except as described below.
Third Party Services
Clear Signal uses the following third-party services:
• Supabase — stores practice card answers, journal entries, and testimony submissions securely with row-level security so that only your anonymous user ID can access your own data. Supabase’s servers may incidentally log the IP address of network requests as a standard part of operating any internet service.
• Apple StoreKit (SKStoreReviewController) — used to display the App Store rating prompt. We do not receive any data from this prompt.
• Apple App Store — opened when you tap “Rate Clear Signal.”
• Your email client (mailto) — used when you choose to send us feedback, a feature suggestion, or a testimony by email.
Clear Signal does not use analytics SDKs, crash reporting services, advertising networks, social logins, AI services, or payment processors.
Sensitive Information
Because Clear Signal is a Christian discernment app, the content you create in it (your voice selections, journal entries, scenario answers, and testimony submissions) reflects your religious beliefs and personal spiritual practice. We treat this as sensitive information and handle it only for the purpose of providing the app’s features. We do not use it for any other purpose, and we do not share it.
Data Storage and Security
Local data on your device is protected by standard iOS data protection. Data sent to our servers is transmitted over HTTPS (TLS) and stored encrypted at rest in Supabase. Access to the database is controlled through row-level security policies so that no other user can read your entries.
We never sell your personal information to third parties.
Data Deletion
You can permanently delete all your data at any time from Settings → Delete My Data. This removes your journal entries and scenario history from our servers and resets the app to its initial state.
Notifications
Clear Signal does not currently request notification permissions or send push notifications. If this changes in the future, you will be asked for permission first, and you’ll be able to disable notifications at any time through your device settings.
Religious Content Disclaimer
Clear Signal is a Christian devotional and discernment training app. Content is provided for educational and personal reflection purposes only and is not a substitute for pastoral counseling, professional spiritual direction, medical advice, or mental health treatment. We make no claims about specific spiritual outcomes.
Children’s Privacy
Clear Signal is intended for users 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has submitted information through the app (such as a testimony), please contact us and we will remove it.
Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete information we hold about you. Because the app uses anonymous identifiers and we do not collect names or emails by default, we may not be able to identify your specific records without additional information from you. To make a request, email us at the address below.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will reflect the most recent changes. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
