ClearGuard Privacy Policy

ClearGuard is a browser productivity and website-protection extension designed to help users manage distracting or unwanted web browsing.

Information ClearGuard may process

ClearGuard may process the current website/domain, user-created blocking rules, allow-list rules, keyword rules, schedules, Protection Groups, time-limit settings, and local website usage information as necessary to provide its blocking and time-management features.

If you choose to sign in, ClearGuard may receive basic account information such as your name, email address, account identifier, and authentication tokens through the authentication provider.

Local browsing and usage data

Website usage statistics, raw browsing activity, raw search queries, Discipline Lock PIN information, PIN verifier information, and related local protection state are not uploaded as part of ClearGuard account synchronization.

Account synchronization

Signed-in users may optionally synchronize selected ClearGuard configuration settings, including blocking preferences, allow lists, keyword rules, schedules, Protection Groups, time limits, and interface preferences.

How information is used

Information is used only to provide ClearGuard’s website blocking, keyword protection, time-limit, scheduling, account synchronization, and related user-requested functionality.

Data sharing

ClearGuard does not sell personal information or browsing data. Information may be processed by service providers necessary to provide optional authentication and synchronization functionality.

Advertising

ClearGuard does not use browsing activity or personal information for targeted advertising.

Security

ClearGuard uses reasonable technical measures to protect synchronized account information. Discipline Lock PIN material is kept local and is not uploaded as part of normal account synchronization.

User control

Users can use ClearGuard without signing in. Signed-in users may sign out at any time. Users can modify or remove their ClearGuard rules and settings through the extension.

Changes

This policy may be updated as ClearGuard evolves. Material changes will be reflected on this page.
