Instead, break each area into small, manageable chunks. If you are clutter clearing a cupboard, work shelf by shelf, completing each one before moving on to the next. For chests of drawers or dressers, work drawer by drawer. If you have a whole junk room full of clutter, divide it into chunks and tackle each area one at a time. If you get easily distracted, spread sheets or blankets over the other stuff in the room to hide it from view, which will enable you to focus completely on the area you are working on.

I am not an expert in this area but I have read a number of books on this subject. One of the first books I read and has been one of my favourites ever since is Clear Your Clutter with Feng Shui by Karen Kingston. I used this book as my bible for quite awhile and fashioned the first talk I did on Decluttering Your Life with this book. Here are a few of the tips I talk about with my peeps.

When it comes to your home the placement of furniture can be important. You want the spaces in your home to have a good flow which allows for good energy. You need space to move around, sit and have a chat with someone, or maybe do some reading with a good lamp. Think about the activities that you want to do in each of your rooms.

This is a good area to put your attention to as entranceways are considered to be the mouth of your home and of course that is where the first impression comes from with others but also with yourself when you come home.

Balance your energy, improve your relationships and happiness, and heal your living space and the planet. Join feng shui expert Tisha Morris as she reveals the amazing possibilities for transformation when you use wisdom of the five elements to make simple yet beautiful changes in your home and life.

While the world seems to be in love with the idea of tiny houses and minimalism, many of us simply can't purge it all and start from nothing. Yet a home with too much stuff is difficult to maintain, so where do we begin? Add in paralyzing emotional attachments and constant life challenges, and it can feel almost impossible to make real decluttering progress.

In this comprehensive guide to space clearing, internationally best-selling author Denise Linn distills more than 50 years of experience as a leading authority in energy healing to guide you through sacred ceremonies and modern techniques for regaining control of the energy in any environment, including your home and your body. You'll learn how to transform any space using feng shui, clutter clearing, prayer, crystals, essential oils, mystic mudras, holy water, pendulums, and more!

With practical and warm advice, lifestyle designer and coach Kerri Richardson guides you to accept your clutter as a natural manifestation of your mind, body, and spirit looking out for yourself. It is your soul calling out for you to invest in self-care and to face the fears holding you back from being your best self. Richardson dives into the most common categories of physical clutter and provides efficient and effective steps for clearing the space for your physical, mental, and spiritual well-being to flourish.

Traditional organizing advice never worked for decluttering expert and self-proclaimed recovering slob Dana K. White. Is it possible, she wondered, to get organized without color coding my sock drawer? As Dana let go of the need for perfection, she discovered the joy of having an organized house in the midst of everyday life. You can too!

Drawing on her wealth of experience as a feng shui, space clearing and clutter clearing consultant, Karen Kingston explains how clutter is stuck energy with far-reaching physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual effects. This audio book will motivate you to clear your clutter as never before, once you realise just how much your junk has been holding you back!

The paperback edition of this book has sold over one million copies in 25 languages since its publication in 1998 and has established itself as a feng shui "must read" classic. This audio book edition, published in 2012, contains all the latest updates and revisions, including two essential new chapters that were not in the original version of the book. Completely unabridged and narrated by Karen Kingston herself, it gives many insights into the deeper reasons why people keep clutter and - most importantly - how to let it go and get on with your life.

Clutter clearing is a life skill that everyone needs to learn. Why? Because never in the history of the human race have people had so many personal possessions. Nearly everyone has clutter of some kind!

Before I started this process, I took a clutter clearing class from Tracey Stanton, who trained with clutter clearing expert Karen Kingston. Karen Kingston wrote this great book called Clear Your Clutter with Feng Shui, where she explains it succinctly:

So say Kathryn Wilking and Linda Varone, two feng shui practitioners who maintain that applying the traditional Chinese system to your work space can improve your finances, your career, and your well-being.

To ensure free flow of energy in this area, your feet need a clear space and your chair should roll, giving your body space as you work, Wilking said. Avoid balance balls and stools that have you perching tensely at your desk.

Trying to enhance all nine areas could be daunting, so Varone tells her clients to pick three to focus on. Consider displaying diplomas centered on the wall directly in front of you, in the area associated with reputation, or a photo of you and your partner in the back right corner, which connects to relationships, Wilking suggests.

Nobody likes clutter. In fact, the whole reason you moved to a wireless network in the first place was to get rid of that "magical mess" of cables and routers messing up your Feng Shui. Though the blinkenlights are cool, we'll keep those. 17dc91bb1f
