Dear Clear Creek Families,
Welcome back! I am excited to announce that this year the Clear Creek Library will operate on a hybrid schedule for all students. During extended planning days, I will see classes as part of the related arts for 30 min enrichment lessons and activities. Teachers and students will still have the opportunity to come to the library on an as-needed basis during flex times built into every day. Students do not need to wait until "library day" in order to check out new books. I am also able to collaborate with teachers in order to enhance and enrich the curriculum!
Due to greater flexibility, I am able to support and collaborate with all teachers based on curricular needs, including literacy lessons, read-alouds, and book talks. Students will continue to become proficient with technology tools as they learn about information literacy and being good digital citizens. In short, flexible scheduling allows for library visits to be more curriculum driven. As the hub of the school, the library will continue to be a busy place where students can be seen working in small groups, collaborating on research, and reading for pleasure and about wonders and interests that excite them. It has been my lifelong goal to foremost instill a love of reading and encourage students to become lifelong learners!
The mission of the Clear Creek Library is to provide an inviting dynamic learning environment to promote literacy and the enjoyment of reading, curiosity, creativity, and lifelong learning. Our vision is to empower students to become ethical users, critical thinkers, enthusiastic readers, and skillful researchers. Moving toward a flexible schedule ensures equity and freedom to access materials and information for our scholars on an as-needed basis.
Below are useful links and literacy resources for students to explore during long summer, winter breaks or anytime throughout the year! You will also find links to KBA nominees for 2023-24.
Please reach out to me with any concerns or questions you may have.
Sincerely,
Vicki Stoltz, LMS
