Clean Spark respects your privacy and treats the handling of your information as a matter of importance. This document sets out which data we gather, how it is used, when it may be shared, and the safeguards that protect it while you use our mobile app. We ask you to read the sections below so that you understand our practices concerning your data.
For the purpose of providing and improving our storage cleaning and device management features, we may gather the non-personal technical data described below. Data that identifies you personally, such as your name, your postal address, your email address, or your phone number, is not collected by us.
Device Information: Technical details about your handset may be read, including the device model, the version of the operating system, and device identifiers that do not identify you as an individual. These details are used only to keep the application compatible with your device, to trace technical faults, and to improve how the application performs.
Usage Data: We record aggregated and anonymous statistics about which features are used and how the application is navigated. Such records help our technical team decide what needs refinement and how to make the application serve users better.
All Files Access (MANAGE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE):
The main purpose of Clean Spark depends on this permission. With it, storage on your device can be examined so that unneeded items are located and cleared, among them system cache, temporary files, leftovers from other applications, duplicate files, and unusually large files. Scanning, analysis, and deletion take place only on your device. Only file metadata, such as type, size, and path, is read, and only to the extent needed to carry out these operations; your personal files are never opened, and what is inside them is not sent anywhere.
Foreground Service (FOREGROUND_SERVICE_SPECIAL_USE):
Long cleaning and scanning tasks are carried out inside a foreground service. Android may end background work on its own, so the service keeps the operation going until it has finished, including while the app is off screen. A notification stays visible for as long as the service runs, and the operation can be stopped from that notification at any time. Everything the service does stays on your device, and no file contents leave it.
Our processing follows the principle of data minimization. Two points are worth highlighting:
On-Device Processing: Scanning, junk detection, and cleaning run entirely on your device. Your photos, videos, documents, and other personal files are never uploaded to or kept on servers operated by us.
Removal When You Uninstall: Consistent with common data protection practice, uninstalling Clean Spark automatically and permanently deletes the temporary settings files and activity records that the app created on your device.
Services from outside providers are built into the application to support its core features, to serve advertising, and to measure performance. Those providers may gather and handle device identifiers and usage data on their own terms, as set out in their own privacy policies. The providers currently in use include, though are not restricted to:
Advertising partners: Google AdMob, AppLovin, and Meta Audience Network (Facebook).
Analytics partners: Google Firebase Analytics and Google Analytics for Firebase.
We suggest reading the privacy policies published by these providers to learn how they handle data. Their collection, use, and disclosure practices are outside our control, and Clean Spark is not accountable for them.
Reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, consistent with industry practice, are applied to the limited technical data we hold, in order to reduce the risk of that data being accessed, changed, disclosed, or lost without authorization. Even so, no way of storing or sending data electronically is completely secure. We therefore take accepted measures to protect your data but cannot promise absolute security.
Clean Spark is a general-purpose utility and is not aimed at children below the age of 13. Personal information from such children is not knowingly gathered. If we find out that a child below that age has given us personal information, we will remove it from our records promptly. Parents or guardians who believe that their child has provided information to us are asked to get in touch with us.
This Privacy Policy may be revised from time to time to reflect new data practices, operational needs, or legal requirements that apply to us. Whenever a significant change is made, the "Last Updated" date on this page will be revised accordingly. We suggest checking this page periodically to remain aware of our current practices. If you continue to use the application after a revised version is posted, you are taken to have accepted the changes.
