TAPLAP Stand + Seed Library Are Open For The 2024 Season! Happy Planting!
CLAYTON, NJ
The "Take A Plant, Leave A Plant" or TAPLAP movement is community-driven initiative that encourages people to share their love of plants and foster a sense of community through the exchange of plants. The idea is simple: participants can leave a potted plant in a designated public space, along with a note that reads "take a plant, leave a plant". Anyone passing by can take a plant and, in exchange, leave a plant of their own for others to enjoy. This movement has become increasingly popular in recent years as more people have discovered the benefits of indoor and outdoor gardening. It provides an opportunity for people to connect with nature, reduce stress, and promote sustainability by repurposing and sharing resources.
Our TAPLAP stand, located at W. High St. in Clayton, NJ, began 2 years ago and is back for another season! At our stand, we accept any and all donations including plants, cuttings, and accessories like pots! Starting this year, we will be accepting seed donations at our Little Free Seed Library, located next to the plant stand. Our stand is self-served and self-regulated so we ask each guest to be courteous to us, the stand and other patrons by limiting their taking to one plant/ item per donation. There is a sign located next to the stand featuring a QR code, where patrons can donate or tip to help support our efforts and/ or as a convenient replacement for a plant donation.
We look forward to serving the community once again this season and hope to see you at the stand this year!
Happy Planting!
