Claws Mail Download Windows

I am using claws mail on a windows 7 pc. Because I had computer problems I was forced to reinstall my computer on a new hard drive. After that I wanted to save my old mail folder and claws-mail settings and place them in the new computer.

My problem is that I can't find them. When I start claws-mail from my old hard disc, the program tells me that I started claws mail for the first time and start the normal configuring procedures. So that I can not simply save them for normal export procedures.

I am using Claws Mail v3.9.1 on Windows 7 Pro 64-bit. This is the location I found where Claws stores (by default) one's email standard folders "draft," "inbox," "queue," "sent," "Spam," and "trash" :

where "C:" is your system drive, "Username" is your Windows logon account name, and "Email-Acct-Name" is the name configured inside Claws for a given email account (and you can have many accounts, which would go into separate folders at that level).

It may be that one of the folders or files in that folder specify where the mail account folders are stored, which once edited, might enable one to move those folders to a different drive (which I'd prefer to do).

There always is the "Render HTML messages as text" option. It works very well for me (but then I always thought that HTML e-mails are a bad idea for the only thing they seem to do is distract you with moving gifs and comic sans..)

I'm still missing the fuss. Most comments here are referring to that "now and then" or "rare" html email that you need to see in it's intended layout. Just open the html attachment in any webbrowser. No need to replace the mail client.

Yep, I looked around a bit and found no better options. Geary is bare bones and IMAP only while I still have one POP3 email account. Balsa is ancient and Sylpheed is a less-well executed Claws. I'll click the link if I have to.

Geez, Trilby, you're not really helping here. The question is - can HTML emails be rendered in claws-mail? Yes, you can get HTML emails. Yes, they can sort of be rendered as text, but often that doesn't work. I don't like HTML emails any more than the rest of us, but sometimes they come in and it would be nice to be able to view them like we used to.

As a side note: Upstream brought back the dillo plugin. And you can still use the fancy plugin, just compile claws-mail yourself with the INSECURE fancy plugin enabled.

There are 2 small icons on the right side of the window. If not click the little >. One for mail with the headers on, and the bottom one for just the message. Right click on that one and choose open with then choose dillo '%s', viola, html message in dillo.

Long and painful story short, I am recovering from a hard drive crash. Have a clean install (OpenSuSE 12.3, x86_64), and my backup data to bring back. We use Claws Mail. I ran CM once to set up the links in the new /home/me directory. Then I copied the contents of the backup CM data into the new /home/me/.clawsmail folder. It tries to open but says the folderlist.xml is bad and will not start. What can I do to get back up and running? What additional information do you need?

I have this problem since upgrading to 6.0.7.3 on Linux Mint 19. Why does this suddenly not work? Yes, I can save the document in every format I want to send it in but that will just litter my hard drive. [EDIT 2018-03-09]: LibreOffice had used 8-bit MAPI to communicate with default mail provider; it also used original filename for temporary attachment files. With some of recent changes I made to the code (starting with this commit, followed by this, this, and this), it now uses 16-bit Simple MAPI, which eliminates some of problems that could result in such a message. Also, a problem code is now shown in the error message, to help determine the real problem. It will be available in version 6.1 (or using current dailies).
