ABOUT ME

I'm associate professor (profesora permanente laboral) at UNED, department of Logic, History and Philosophy of Science. Before joining the UNED I was Juan de la Cierva postdoctoral fellow at the University of Granada. I received my PhD from the University of Barcelona, LOGOS group.

I work on the philosophy of language. More specifically, my reasearch focuses on how context affects communication. In my PhD I investigated the semantics/pragmatics interface, the phenomenon of semantic underdeterminacy and the pervasive context-dependence of natural language, as well as the viability of systematic theories of interpretation. I have defended a pragmatic approach to communication.

I currently work on communicative agency, how it depends on identity and standing and how it can be undermined by speech. I'm also interested on multiple meaning, on how we exploit contextual resources to say multiple things as once, as in twice-apt metaphors or strategic ambiguity.

During the academic year 23/24 I lead a project on hermeneutical injustice.
