Timi Levy is a professional violinist originally from Budapest, Hungary. Prior to moving to Parrsboro in 2007, she had performed with the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, National Ballet, Alberta Ballet, Sarah Brightman and the Tea Party. In Calgary, she taught private violin to over 40 students at the Mount Royal College and her home. Prior to coming to Canada in 1998 to participate in master classes at the Banff Centre of the Arts, Timi had performed throughout Europe. Timi’s degree in music includes the Hungarian State Examination – Master’s equivalence, qualified artist, chamber and violin musician/instructor. Timi currently teaches and performs violin and fiddle in Parrsboro, Halifax, Amherst and surrounding areas. She is one of the organizers and performers of the annual Classics by the Bay Music Festival held in Parrsboro. In addition to this she continues to be one of the Instructors at the Ship’s Company Theatre annual Fiddle Camp. Timi is currently the Concert Master for the PEI Symphony
New Brunswick violinist Sara Liptay received her Master’s of Music under Nancy Dahn at Memorial University and Baroque Certification from the University of Toronto where she studied with Jeanne Lamon and Tafelmusik. A passionate music educator and advocate, Sara was the founding teaching Artist and Centre director of Sistema New Brunswick in both Moncton and Hillsborough. She has conducted the Fredericton High School Orchestra and was the recipient of Music New Brunswick’s ‘Music Educator of the Year’ in 2018.
She is a long-time member of Symphony New Brunswick and performed for many years with the Early Music Studio of Saint John. She has shared the stage with Stephen Page, David Myles, Jeremy Dutcher and Michael Bublé. Sara is committed to exploring mew musical art forms while performing across the province with her award-winning Celtic band, Fundy Ceilidh, and NB folk and blues duo Isaac and Blewett.
Robin Streb is an active performer in a variety of genres. She has appeared frequently as a new and experimental music performer in Canada, the US and Europe, on a variety of concert series, including, Klangraum (Düsseldorf), Klang im Turm (Munich), Okiro New and Experimental Music Series (Hollywood, CA), Listen Space (Brooklyn, NYC), the wulf. (Los Angeles, CA), The Cellar ‘A Month of Tuesdays’ (Vancouver), Sonic Boom Festival (Vancouver), Redshift Music Society (Vancouver), ctrl+alt+repeat (Los Angeles CA), Librairie le port de tête (Montreal), Open Arts (St. John), and as a soloist at LeHum (Moncton) where she performed works by James Tenney, John Cage, Malcolm Goldstein, as well as a new work by Antoine Beuger, endings, written specifically for her. Since 2004 Robin has also performed with Laura Cetilia as Suna No Onna, presenting new and experimental music. Their repertoire focuses on microtonal as well as long-form experimental works. In 2012, Suna No Onna was invited to Germany to perform a program including works by Antoine Beuger, and Gegengewicht by Acadian composer André Cormier, supported by the Canada Council for the Arts. In April 2014 they premiered Mirko Sablich’s Unfoldings also commissioned with the assistance of the Canada Council for the Arts. In August 2019 Robin performed in Conversations 2019 with Ensemble Sisyphe, and in October, she traveled to Victoria, BC to perform Gérard Grisey’s Vortex temporum with Aventa Ensemble.
Chris Yoon is a recent graduate from McGill University with a Master of Music in cello performance and studied with Brian Manker. Prior to his time in McGill, Chris completed his Bachelor of Music in performance and a Diploma in Chamber Music at Wilfrid Laurier University as a student of Paul Pulford and Katie Schlaikjer. For the orchestral experience, Chris has performed with the National Academy Orchestra of Canada in 2019, National Youth Orchestra of Canada 2015, Guelph Symphony Orchestra, and Symphony New Brunswick. To further his education, Chris has attended summer music festivals and workshops in Canada including Orford Summer Academy Masterclasses, Laurier University's Quartet Fest, Domain Forget International Music Festival, and Tuckamore Chamber Music Festival. In addition, Chris participated in multiple university graduation recitals, student composer concerts, opera concerts, and conducting recitals. Chris is looking forward to be part of musical community and excited to launch his music career.
