Winter in the Blood by James Welch
Winter in the Blood is written by James Welch, a Native American author whose parents were Blackfeet and Gros Ventre. It was published in 1974 by the company Harper & Row. The novel is about a nameless young man who messed around a lot and didn’t take life as seriously as he should. He parties, drinks beer, and partakes in one-night stands. It isn’t until he meets Yellow Calf, a blind and old Indian man, that he takes a second look at his life and decides to change.
