The Yellow Wallpaper by Charlotte Perkins Gilman
The Yellow Wallpaper is a great piece of literature published in 1892, a move forward in the conversation of feminism. The short story is filled with journal entries by a woman who is married to a physician. She is made to stay home and rest as a housewife because he has diagnosed her with “temporary nervous depression”, which was a common diagnosis made to women in the 1800s.
