This novel Beloved is about a slave by the name of Sethe and how she and her family escaped from the South but were still enslaved by the terrible memories and trauma of their lives. This book took place eight years after the Civil War. Nobel Prize winner Toni Morrison earned a Pulitzer Prize for Beloved. Morrison, who passed away in the summer of 2019, is known for writing novels about universal relationships between men and women with African culture added.
