The Clarkstown Parent Academy is a partnership between the Clarkstown Council of the PTAs and the Clarkstown Central School District. It is designed to meaningfully engage parents, strengthen partnerships in education, and enhance the home–school connection.
Through workshops, webinars, and events, families will gain valuable insights into academics, social-emotional learning, parenting supports, and more.

In this session, members of the Clarkstown Central School District administration share an inside look at their roles and responsibilities. Learn more about who they are, the work they do to support students and families, and the types of situations when parents may reach out to their offices. This webinar is designed to help families better understand how the district works and how to connect with the right people when questions arise.

The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) plays a vital role in strengthening the home–school connection and building community across our district. In this session, families will learn about the different PTA units within our schools, what it means to be a PTA member, and the many ways parents can get involved. Presenters will also share who to contact if you ever have a concern, how PTA leaders partner with school administration, and the important work PTAs do to support students, staff, and families.
Whether you’re curious about joining for the first time or want to better understand the impact of PTA in our district, this workshop will give you the knowledge and tools to feel connected and empowered.

Join us for a Parent Academy session focused on the Social Emotional Learning (SEL) curriculum in our district. This workshop will highlight the current practices being used in our schools, including the shared language students and staff use every day. Families will also learn about the resources and supports available within the school setting to help students build skills in self-awareness, relationships, and resilience.
This session is designed to give parents a better understanding of how SEL is woven into the school experience — and how it supports both academic and personal growth.

One of the most common question parents have centers around curriculum — from learning pathways and enrichment opportunities to how curriculum decisions are made. This Parent Academy session will walk families through the process of how curriculum is selected and implemented, the balance between state requirements and district-level autonomy. Parents will gain a clearer understanding of the process, where to direct questions or concerns, and how to provide meaningful feedback.
