Question, via Facebook comment: How do you feel about boys using the girls bathroom? This is an ongoing issue in schools.
Andrea's Answer: I asked about this during my high school tour. “Boys use the boys bathrooms, girls use the girls bathrooms, and anyone who feels uncomfortable can use the bathroom in the nurses office.” This isn’t an issue in Chardon.
Question, via Facebook message: A lot of parents were not happy with [a board member], because of [their] masking policies. If this should ever rise again, what is your opinion about masking children at school?
Andrea's Answer:I I really hope we never see a global pandemic of that sort again! For my family personally, it was very scary - [we have several high risk family members]. But I say PERSONALLY because I know it was different for everyone. I chose to mask my children ... But I think if I were on the board, the board does need to consider each other’s presented facts as well as those from community, plus state and local laws and recommendations. I would listen and encourage board discussion before any decisions were made & should the board as a whole decide to mask, I would also support an opt out option.
