Hello Neighbor. The Churchill Landing Association, a.k.a. CLA, welcomes you back to the beach. CLA is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization comprised of volunteers from our neighborhood dedicated to the preservation of Churchill Landing Sandy Beach. CLA owns 18 acres of pristine beach extending from the rock groin south of the Old Beach Rd access with its boardwalk, to the right of way at the northern end of Circuit Ave, with a total of 9 access points. We welcome you to use the beach and enjoy the pleasures it has to offer.
Our annual meeting will be held at the Moose Lodge in Manomet on Friday, July 7, 2017 at 7:30 PM. This represents your opportunity as a member to meet the CLA board, learn our focus and vision, ask any questions, volunteer, and discuss any issues you might have. It also represents your opportunity to actively participate in beach planning and activities. CLA Board of Directors elections are also held. Replacing the traditional boardwalk at the Old Beach Road access with new aluminum gangway sections will be discussed.
Repairs of owner revetments have been completed and all associated construction equipment has left the beach. We actually have more beach as of this writing than we had last year, although the late May storm did damage the bottom of the landing. Fortunately the revetments are intact. The association did invest in an aluminum gangway last year to facilitate access.
Churchill Landing maintains its boardwalk and aluminum gangway at the end of Old Beach Road from June through early fall, the easiest and safest access to the beach. Please be aware that parking is not allowed on Old Beach Road and cars may be ticketed or towed! Unfortunately. CLA cannot maintain this access point during the winter and the severe coastal storms throughout the year may render the access point virtually unusable. Please use caution and pass at your own risk. The Grove Avenue access just north of the boardwalk may present an alternative but the steps are askew and may make it difficult to navigate.
In closing we thank you for your generous support over the years. Your dues contributions cover the taxes, beach access improvements as well as repair of the seawall infrastructure. Dues amounts remain at $50.00 per family and $25.00 for seniors age 70+ when paying by check. If paying by PayPal your dues amounts include a nominal fee and are $52.00 per family and $27.00 for seniors. PayPal links have been included below for your convenience.
Please enjoy the beach responsibly and abide by the posted beach rules. Well behaved dogs on lead are welcome provided that owners pick up after their pets. Enjoy your summer!
