Civics Sleuths WebQuest

The story: Several refugee families have recently settled in your town. You make friends with one of the new students and find out their parents want to practice improving their English by preparing for the U.S. citizenship test. According to the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services website, the exam asks a lot of questions about our government. First, you will have to put on your Civics Sleuth hat so you can decode the 200 year-old language of the U.S. Constitution.

Using your detective skills, you will answer the following Big Questions:

How is the government’s work divided among the three branches of government?

How does the system of checks and balances system keep our government stable?

Which powers are saved for state governments?
