The Primdorial Monsters and Golb
"Before there was time, before there was anything, there was nothing. And before there was nothing, there were monsters."
Prior to the universe being created, monsters existed in the nothingness that preceded that. The strongest of these monsters was GOLB, an entity of chaos and disorder. Golb would go on to have seven scholars, those who studied it's ways. Those who devoted themselves to it. The most notable of these scholars was The Lich and Hunson's father.
When the universe was created, all of these monsters escaped into it. This included Golb. The only one who could seal it away was The Boss as they were the only one who could rival Golb in power. The first hundred years of creating the universe involved the cosmic entities dealing with the primdorial monsters who escaped into the universe and while most were dealt with, not all of them could be.
The Afterlife
There are at least 50 dead worlds and that the dead world someone goes to depends on who they were in life and how many times they reincarnated with the 1st dead world being where the worst of the worst souls go with the 50th dead world being where the purest souls go. All of these dead worlds are connected to the Land of the Dead (where the dead initially end up on), which is ruled over by Death.
Aside from the dead world, there is Life's domain. This is where souls get created or they go to get reincarnated.
Finally, there's the Nightosphere and Day World. The Nightosphere and the Day World were both created when the universe was. The Nightosphere and the Day World are basically Hell and Heaven in the Adventure Time universe. The Day World (also known as Glob World) is a paradise where the purest of the 50th dead world are taken to. The Nightosphere on the other hand, takes the darkest souls of the 1st dead word in order to enslave and torture them for all eternit. No one leaves the Nightsophere after all.
The Day World are ruled over by King Ezekiel, who primarily answers to Orbo. While the Nightosphere was originally ruled by a slime monster, Hunson's father used the newly crafted Abadeer axe to kill the slime creature and seize control of the Nightosphere, bringing so much order that it was chaotic.
Hell and Nightosphere Connection
Sometime after Lucifer and Lilith became king and queen of hell, Hunson's father took the opportunity to establish business connections between the Nightosphere and Hell. This included the construction of an Abadeer estate built in the second ring of Pride as well as trading of different kinds of goods such as materials, drugs, etc.
Nightosphere/Day World Genocidal War
A few thousand years ago, a war broke out between the Nightosphere and Day World. A lot of lives were lost; not just demons and angels but there were thousands of human lives lost as well. Eventually, the cosmic entities had to step in and ensure that this wouldn't happen again. While angels still had access to the surface world as some angels' only purpose involved interaction with the surface world. But the Nightosphere was sealed off to the surface world with the only way to access it coming from spells.
Rainicorn-Dog War
Some time in the past, talking dogs arrived in the Crystal dimension after coming into contact with crystals that opened portals to the Crystal Dimension. But as they settled into this new dimension, they came into conflict with Rainicorns, who were already living in the territory the dogs tried to claim. This resulted in a war in-between the two species that lasted for a couple of years.
Towards the end of the war, the dogs got a hold of the Crystal Mergence of Destruction, a magic sandwhich of destructive power. It took the rainicorns and dogs combining forced to seal it away. Following this, both sides realized how destructive this war over territory had become, an understanding was reached and allow both rainicorns and dogs to both live in the Crystal Dimension. Despite rainicorns and dogs living together, there are still some discrimination in-between the groups.
Soul Sucking
The Abadeer have the ability to suck souls and it's where a majority of their powers come from. Demons are capable of a lot of powers (controlling fire, controlling lightning, telekinesis, controlling shadows, creating zombies) and soul sucking allows the Abadeers and other soul sucking demons to be more powerful. More souls = more power.
When a demon eats souls, the soul will slowly be absorbed into a demon's being. A soul's memories get absorbed with older souls being more powerful than a young soul. If the soul devoured had any powers (like the vampires), the demon ends up obtaining that power. As a side effect, a demon may be plagued with nightmares of the souls they've eaten.
Weapons infused with nightosphere magic, such as the Night Sword or Night Scythe, also have the ability to absorb the souls of those it kills and someone with magic can use these kinds of weapons to boost their own powers.
Globmas
While the humans from the islands celebrate Christmas, the people of Ooo celebrate Globmas. The Globmas tradition began shortly after the events of Holly Jolly Secrets. It started following the events of Holly Jolly Secrets. Due to some of the most prominent figures (Finn, Princess Bubblegum, Marceline) in Ooo starting a tradition of sitting around a fire watching videos while wearing sweaters, it started catching on with other denizens of Ooo before it became this big thing during the winter time. And due to the fact that remnants of the human's christmas traditions were in Ooo, Globmas was influenced by the Christmas traditions of old.
The Great Mushroom War
The Great Mushroom War began some time in the late 90s and ended in 2010 when the Mushroom Bomb dropped. Aside from the life that was killed in the initial blast, most humans died from either radiation poisoning or the utter collapse of civilization. In addition, the Mushroom Bomb also awakened The Lich, who had been resting dormant for hundreds of years after crashing onto Earth as one of the four catalyst comets, as well as the Vampires, who had been hibernating since the Ice Age. Some of the life that wasn't killed ended up becoming mutated.
In addition, the Mushroom Bomb also brought about a resurgence of magic, something that had been on the decline in human society. The Mushroom Bomb also had the consequence of weakening the magical wall that kept the surface world separate from other dimensions. This allowed non-human soul demons and rainicorns to find themselves on the surface world with Rainicorns in particular contributing to the near extinction of humans.
Eventually, life on the surface world began to be able to live again and the surface world began to heal, allowing new civilization to be established.
Nighthounds
Nighthounds are the Adventure Time equivalent of hellhounds. Nighthounds are demon dogs from the Nightosphere, often used for hunting or guarding but have also been used in fighting and companionship. Similar to surface world dogs, nighthounds come in a variety of breed that have unique features. For example, damnatians have eyes as well as spots all over their bodies, making them able to watch prey easily. Meanwhile, soulful retrievers possess the ability to steal souls and morph them into balls to carry in their mouth.
Nighthounds age the same as surface world dogs but stop aging when they reach maturity which is 1-2 years old. No matter the breed, adult nighthounds feature sharp front claws and spine protruding from their spine. Nighthounds are immortal as long as they aren't killed with the only way to kill a nighthound is either using a holy weapon or using a weapon infused with demon blood.
Nightosphere Floura and Fauna
Aside from Nighthounds, the Nightosphere also houses a number of floura and fauna.
For example, there are flamingores (the middle) with are basically the Nightosphere counterpart of flamingoes. There are also monsterous-looking alligators (the right) as well Nighthorses (the right) who are a stand-in for hellhorses.
There are also creatures of the Nightosphere that are more fantasy like such different types of dragons such as bone dragons or serpents who reside in lava lakes in the part of the Nightosphere that aren't inhabited by anyone.
Similar to nighthounds, they stop aging when they reach maturity but can still be killed by a holy weapon or a weapon infused with demon blood.
Sentimental Objects
Objects with sentimental objects are valuable in terms of magic. Sentimental objects are often used in potions and all kinds of spells, including time-travel spells that allow casters to see into the past for a short time from the brief hole that the object creates.
One of the spells sentimental objects can be used in is a soul recreation spell. Due to sentimental objects having memories associated with it that makes it so valuable, these objects can be used to make a replica of a person's soul that the object belongs to.
There are two kinds of memories: positive memories and negative memories. Sentimental objects can have both so it's advised to be careful when using sentimental objects for spells as negative memories can be an influence.
While sentimental objects are powerful on their own, objects with "sentimental freshness" are seen as much more powerful and valuable for spells.
The Soul Recreation Spell
The Soul Recreation spell is a spell that allows the caster to replicate a soul for whatever you may need it for. For the spell, you need need six items of sentimental value that belong to the person whose soul you want to recreate. After drawing the ritual circle pictured to the left, put each sentimental object in the surrounding circles. While the body of the person whose soul you're trying to replicate is not required, it's reccommended you put their body in the center of the circle if you want to put in the replicate soul immediately. Once everything is in place for the spell, recite the following phrase: "Anima parva perdita // Anima iamdudum abest // Etiamsi non eadem est // Perges" (english: "Lost little soul // Soul long gone // Even if it's not the same // You will go on").
One side effect of recreated souls is, as due to this spell being a dark magic spell, a recreated soul's negative emotions will be magnified. So if the person had a bit of a temper before, their anger issues are going to be increased because of the recreated soul.
Be warned when using this spell on a soul that is paired with another soul, the spell will affect both souls even if the spell is being used on one of them. While the other soul will recieve the same properties as the recreated soul, the spell also has the side effect of the other soul feeling any pain inflicted onto the recreated soul and vice versa.
People with recreated souls can't age and are considered undead. Those with recreated souls can't be killed by normal means. A severe blow to the heart will only reduce the recreated soul's body to dust and the soul will simply fly back to it's caster. The only way to kill someone with a recreated soul is to destroy the objects used to create it. For linked souls, killing the recreated soul will break the link but the other soul's true age will catch up with them shortly after.
Unlike real souls, once the sentimental objects used to create it are destroyed, the soul will not go to any afterlife. The person will simply cease to exist.
