Background

Marble Pie is the youngest foal born to Igneous Rock Pie and Cloudy Quartz, being a few seconds younger than her twin sister, Pinkie Pie. The Pie family were part of a community similar to the IRL Amish community; a community of ponies who dedicated themselves to living the same way the ancient pony clans lived prior to the Alicorn sisters' rise in power. 

Marble Pie grew up on a rock farm where she helped harvest rocks at a young age. Unlike her more talkative and energetic sister, Marble Pie was much more quiet and shy. For the most part, Marble Pie grew up without the comforts and technologies of the outside world. This included celebration, which were rare and subdued in her community. So she was surprised by the rest of her family when Pinkie Pie threw a surprise party complete with cake and balloons. Like her other sisters and parents, Marble ended up joining in on the party that got Pinkie Pie her cutie mark.

While Pinkie Pie was sent off to Ponyville to apprentice underneath Cloudy’s Quartz’ sister, Chiffon Swirl, and her husband, Carrot Cake, Marble Pie has remained on the farm, where she earned her cutie mark in crafting objects like trinkets using some of the rocks that were harvested.
